Yes, they do look like huge waves.
During the Millennium drought I had a very old friend visit me. When she was leaving I asked her what she was most looking forward to when she returned to the UK. She relied, “Clouds”
Took this early this morning on my walk, it’s either feast or famine here.

A coincidence? A few days ago while driving (so no photos) I also viewed about five of these wave like clouds, only bending in the opposite direction. Absolutely beautiful!

They were probably a prelude of what was in store for us. Strong winds howling again and pouring with rain all night, hasn’t stopped yet and it’s nearly 8am here…
