F1 - Testing Day 1 Bahrain

W12 performance is interesting… P10 (Hamilton) and P17 (Bottas)

What are your thoughts?

Would positions be important while testing Minx?
And would teams want to show their hand?
Having said that, Maclaren seem to be well up in the rankings though…
I’m looking forward to the start of the season…:026:
Is Mike Schumaker the great man’s son?

Not really Foxy. I was thinking the same thing. Strategy by Mercedes. But P10 and P17 is rather drastic.
Yes Mick is Mike’s youngster!

I’m so looking forward to the season but I’m on Holiday for the first race :frowning: so much for planning…

We have to wait until November now for the Australian GP. Usually first “cab” off the rank. Better safe than sorry though.

Absolutely Keezoy! Safety first!

Anyone which channel is it on?

So, who thinks that this performance is strategic?

The merc,s had a gearbox fault so bottas didn’t get much time in it, testing is just that, testing, they could be trying anything, so times are irrelevant

Thanks
I watch it in SA on SuperSport so I have no idea about the UK but testing is done for the day.

I just have a hunch that Mercedes is playing with Horner.
Playing field levelled. Mind games is all that’s left in Wolff’s arsenal

Or, I’m smoking some good stuff

PS: I don’t smoke

The highlights are usually on channel 4 Besoeker. I usually record it so I can wind through the many adverts. I just avoid the news until I can watch it. They are allowed to show a couple live, with no adverts during the race.

Silly me…
I meant which channel is it going to be on for qualifying and race day…

Just of interest, is the Kyalami track much used these days?

Appreciated that Mr Fox…

Sky has exclusive rights in the uk
I think they’re going back to kyalami at some time in the future,

The strategic comment was around Mercedes Visitor.

You remember Kayalami

Yes it’s still in use but no upcoming events due to the pandemic.

The new 4.522km Grand Prix circuit has been certified by the Federation International de l’Automobile (FIA) as a Grade 2 race track, conforming to stringent international safety and quality standards. Kyalami is the only current motor racing facility on the African continent to have been bestowed with such prestigious accreditation.

Appreciated Mrs Minx.
I recall the track on the way from Pretoria. Some things I can remember but the Aphasia is very frustrating for me.
Apologies.

I don’t know the McLaren drivers, but Lando Norris seems in a good position so far.
My late OH worked for McLaren for several years in the 60’s/70’s. Bruce was a lovely man.

What?..Pay to watch telly…:009:…No Way!
