Everly Brothers: US rock 'n' roll star Don Everly dies aged 84

Don Everly, the last surviving member of the rock ‘n’ roll duo The Everly Brothers, has died at the age of 84.

"A family spokesperson confirmed Everly’s death to the Los Angeles Times, but did not disclose the cause.

Everly and his brother, Phil, had hits worldwide in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including Bye Bye Love and All I Have To Do Is Dream.

They were known for their close harmonies and influenced bands such as The Beatles."

I heard this morning Baz. Sad news

:disappointed_relieved:

Sad news…

Yes, I did too but unfortunately overlooked to post it. I can well remember their music in the late 1950s and early 1960s, they were very popular. Strange isn’t it how just a name brings to life in one’s head the music that person was responsible for.

Not only the melodies but all the words too!
Sad news, such a great contribution to our musical heritage.

The Every Brothers were one of my favourites in the 50’s/early 60’s.

RIP Don.

Heard it this morning on Gold radio thy played some of their hits, other radio stations are available.

Carhy’s Clown by the Everely brothers was the first record I ever bought.R.I.P Don.

A few years before I really got into music, but their classics hung around for decades.
One of the good ones…wonderful music.
RIP Don.
