Sitting under a Gum Tree yesterday, got conked on the head by a Honky Nut.
(Eucalyptus Corymbia Calophylla)
Fell from about 10 meters. Honky Nuts are very hard.

Not conked recently, but can only imagine how that must feel. The picture honky nuts look intriguing, so does the bird. The things I learn on this forum. There is another side of the world!

Hi Anise, my head is okay. Honky nuts are not so big as to cause concussion.
Smarted for a little while. A good rubbing seems to do the trick in relieving the discomfort.
A tender spot on the top of my head today.

I remember singing the Kookaburra song at school, in the UK, way back in the 70s.

Oh yes it’s an old song. In more recent years someone got sued for royalties for using it in a pop song thinking it was out of copyright. I can’t off hand remember who it was but it might come to me.
I like the way this thread has meandered between gumnuts and kookaburras
