Does anyone actually watch this any more? Why does the BBC spend money to part finance it when there is no chance of UK winning? We came close with Sam Ryder but I think this year’s entry was awful. Someone said they disliked it when they first hear it but after hearing it several times it grew on them but in a competition like this you need a song that people love on the first hearing.
oh dear, have i missed it
Something in the media is trying hard to whip up enthusiasm
I stopped watching the Eurovision some time in the late 1980s. This year though I was actually interested in how the Italian entry would do, he’s a young promising star, he may present himself in strange clothes and makeup but he’s a really good songwriter /musician and has a very clear voice, all qualities which seem to be unfortunately rare amongst young talents nowadays. Oh, by the way, Lucio Corsi (his name) came fifth, which is not too bad.
That depends if the rating was due to his voice, songwriting abilities, or, he presented himself in strange clothes and makeup
I don’t know how the Eurovision judges rated him but over here he’s definitely not judged by his appearance.
I have not watch it for years, none can even sing in my opinion, they just make a noise.
this is singing
Hi
I don’t watch it, I used to, but no more.
Today it is all about Politics, not music.
It is interesting how no-one admits to watching this (I also haven’t watched it for years) yet the BBC continue to part fund it and claim it has a huge audience!
I suspect it does have a substantial audience although probably younger people? Once again back in the day before the internet TV was more of a collective experience.
I haven’t watched it over recent years. Some weird songs in the contest the last time I did.
i stopped watching it years ago.
It has got too political imo.
Political and a window on the latest sexuallity fashions…
Having said that, Mrs Fox and I usually watch it, her for the music and me for the pretty girls and skimpy costumes…I don’t tell her that though.
We mark the songs out of ten but our choices never do very well.
This year we didn’t watch it as the family were visiting for tea and our daughter just loves ‘The Last Crusade’ (Indiana Jones) on one of the other 2000 channels so we couldn’t admit that we usually watch Eurovision…
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Indeed!
My dad was seldom a stranger when it came to watching Top of The Pops…
