Engine maintenance

recently my little petrol leaf blower has been difficult to restart after use until it cooled down.

So time to give it a small overhaul this morning, I have not done this since I bought it way back in Dec 2014. Only thing I did do was replace the internal fuel pipes a few years back.
first was to remove the original spark plug and give it a clean and reset. Then remove a cover to give access to the cooling fan. Here was the problem the vents to the fan partially blocked by sucked in leaves. so cleared them out and next the air filter.
Never been off before ,and on removal needed either replacing or cleaning. Now me being me I never ever throw out any instruction books and lucky I didn’t. All I had to do was apparently was to soak it in clean petrol and squeeze dry…
ok all now put back together and try out.

What a difference the power of the blower must have doubled, or so it seems. by just doing these simple checks
Cost new when I bought the machine £92.52,well worth the money

If you haven’t maintained it since 2014 I am not surprised.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to rip the carbi to pieces and clean that too. The gaskets sets are cheap enough and they make a big difference. There is probably a metal gauze inside the body, that alone is worth cleaning.
