I and my OH both agree Emmerdale has gone to the dogs, enough said I give up, what was once half an hour of enjoyable entertainment has become a hotch potch of political correctness and the promotion of well I dare not say.
I remember when it used to be about farming!
As you say Basser, I think now they are throwing way too much political correctness and controversy into it, with next to nothing in the way of interesting storylines.
Yep fully agree Mups, it’s sliding into the Abyss.
I’m not seeing any chemistry between Marlon and Jessie at all.
I do applaud Emmerdale for highlighting problems faced by characters such as illness, bereavement and the struggles of folk to be accepted. Perhaps veiwers may rethink their attitudes to those who face such difficulties.
I agree TessA but the violence was unnessary at that time of day IMO Also when a show brings back a character from so long ago ramming home her child was from one of the current characters, could that have not been done more subtly ? I think the times up and they have run out of ideas.
Yes, Julie the violence against Cain was over the top, if it had been implied, just the threat and then the injuries shown would have been enough. The attack on Matty ( transgender in real life) was, I thought, typical of the bullying that goes on to victims that are “different”, Ash the actor who plays Matty was originally asked to help with the storyline to keep it close to real life. We don’t see this so it was important to show the struggle that goes on and what some people have to put up with.
Mandy coming back, just another Dingle coming out of the woodwork.
I think it will be involving Paddy and another Dingle feud.
If they’re short of storylines, I could give them some better ones!
Marlon and Paddy with the hug, give us a break please.
It’s more like a crime series, more murders than Midsomer!
How many psychopaths can you have in one village?
Bob should claim benefits if he’s that hard up, useless idiot!
Isn’t it his cafe not Brenda’s?
The show is just rubbish now, no proper storyline except another missing person to wonder about.
I agree with all that, Tess, especially about useless Bob.
Something else I find irritating, is Charity’s son (name)? and that flaming back to front cap he never takes off!
In fact, he is on the TV awards on telly as I write, and they have just WON. And he has STILL got that flippin’ cap on when everybody else is dressed to the nines!
Plenty going on that you’re missing now .
Hope Marlon chucks Jessie out!
Paddy’s “dad” storyline is pathetic.
Load of rubbish!
I can’t watch this any more
Totally agree, Tess.
A lot of people on social media are complaining, suggesting they need new script writers, and to get rid of dead wood. And that it is all just laughable nowadays.
Dead wood = Charity, Bob, Rodney, Jake AKA Jakey, Eric. etc etc.
I’m sure folks could add more.
Dead wood? I’d be writing a very long list…
Jessie
Her two sons
Ryan
Dawn
Harriet
Rodders
Bob
Graham
Maya
Jakey
Doug
Kerry
Dan
Amelia
Victoria
Vanessa
Matty
Belle
Priya
Most of the above are in my list because I don’t feel anything for their characters and wonder if they’ve run out of storylines/steam for them.
Some I simply cannot accept/like.
So that’s about half the cast list then! LOL.
Perhaps it’s time for a new soap?
One set in the West country would be nice!
I think soaps are to blame for some of the family problems in real life. The characters seem to spend a lot of time drinking, breaking laws, changing partners and ignoring their kids. Some people like to emulate what they see on tv.
I used to like “Take the High Road” set in Scotland.
Gor blimey Jazzi you have wielded there axe girl,
Heh heh!
Anyone else watching Classic Emmerdale on ITV3?
How pleasant it was! Kim Tate was attractive in those days now she looks like a “bulldog chewing a wasp” as Les Dawson would say!
Is she supposed to be some sort of mega criminal? Stupid storyline yet again!
Oh Tess, I so agree.
Stupid woman, stupid character, and even more stupid storyline.
I quite liked Graham until they resurrected with her with her fictitious ‘hold’ over him. Just not believable at all.
