Emmerdale

I was thinking of Matt, Dolly, Amos and his saying ‘Eeeee mishter Wilkes’ every now and again. How the village would have changed for them, but it was ‘Emmerdale Farm’ in those days. ‘Hotten’ wasn’t mentioned, it was always ‘Ollerton’ (which lazily not looking, is an actual town/village in… Nottinghamshire???). Still, this yet another 'explosive finale/incident is looking up into something horrible…! As for that stunt, still it’s on a budget…!

Just had a mooch through the storylines on wiki, place is a nightmare. Can i suggest ending Emmerdale, Corrie and Misery Square and show something nice like wildlife films instead.

Yes watched it.

Load of contrived tosh?

Yes I watched it as well.

Who do you think has died? I was thinking maybe Finn?

Well we know one has gone. And there is supposed to be another victim in the week. Or the crash ‘claims another victim’. Tv guide is in the bedroom and I ain’t getting up for it! Lol.

I have not watched it yet being here in the states at present, but I will have to see if I can find it online tonight.

I did read that some of the victims of the Clutha helecopter crash disaster were upset by the proposed scenes and wanted them stopped. Whilst I have all the sympathy for them I think that is pathetic. If you look at ANY disaster on fictional television you will find a real-life counterpart. Like they state at the end-credits of films:

All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

Anybody who thinks the directors thought of the Clutha crash and decided to copy it is deluded. It is television - GET OVER IT.

Sorry, just had to rant about that a little.

I totally agree with you OB.

Well it’s goodbye to Val and Ross one I will miss and the other I have been hoping will die for many years

I think actor who played Ross may go on to big things while I wasn’t keen on his character I did appreciate what a good actor he is.

Very tongue in cheek, but all these tragedies in Emmerdale because some people can´t keep their trousers up and Debbie can´t keep her knickers up !

Julie, I don’t think Ross is dead, he was beaten to a pulp by Pete.

Ruby and Val died.

I think Ross is just unconscious and will make a spectacular comeback when its least expected.

The actor has done a few goodbye interviews, but we will see, my view of it was he hit his head so hard he died. Will be happy to be proved wrong though as I say he was a good actor.

Yes he did hit his head on a rock.

Decided not to watch as it’s too close to the horrible tragedies which have happened in My City recently, so will give it a miss and hope some positive happy storylines may occur soon…but I won’t hold My breath!

Where were all the other villagers, e.g. Edna, Pearl, Ashley, Laurel, Sandy etc. were none of them invited to the wedding?

So many missing…Sam, Rachel, and the boys, Bernice, Laurel, Ashley, Priya, Kirin, Rakesh, Jai, Megan, Rishi, Georgia.

Well I was glad our oldies were otherwise engaged I was dreading it being Edna or Sandy we lost.

Ross is definitely dead and something Pete will have to live with for killing his brother.

I’m just a bit surprised that nobody has mentioned the fantastic stunts performed over the last week with what happened at the scrap yard where Chrissie torched Robert’s car and the tragedy which resulted with the helicopter; the death of the pilot calling “may day” as he went down, knowing he was going to die; and the rest of the carnage that followed, was truly heartbreaking.

The death of poor Ruby brought tears to my eyes and when Val was aware that her death was within moments and she lit her last cigarette, daring that shard of glass to drop.

Then the scenes of Eric’s realisation at last that his Val was gone for good and his perception of her sitting next to him after death for me was also heartbreaking.

I guess everybody views scenes like these from their own point of view but, for me, these were the very best performances I have EVER seen on any soap, and they deserve the best accolades at the next awards.

Pearl and the Hat have gorn to Bournemouth for hols. Ghost of Val was bizarre in the least. Where were the fairground folk? Poor response from fire and others. Debbie didn’t have a hair out of place and the dress was pristine. Ross hit his head on concrete. Why was Cain at the quarry - to tip his van over the edge or drive off.
The whole sequence of events was like the curate’s egg - good only in parts - not noteworthy at all. :frowning:
