What did you think of tonight’s episode with Ashley?
I switched over went too stupid
My Mum has severe dementia and yes she gets confused and angry, but its an gradual thing, Ashley has not had it long and already he is violent and confused, but it was a bit too much I thought.
But don’t forget he is supposed to have a few TIA’s, so that would probably speed his demise up more, though I admit his deterioration has sure been very quick.
Maybe he has got another acting job elsewhere so couldn’t spin this story out for years.
Probably viewers would have got fed up with it too, had it gone on too long, it is a bit depressing after all, don’t you think?
I’m just wondering about Kerry with her Diabetes, with all those Chocolates and Booze she has, which doesn’t seem to affect her!
I thought the episode yesterday was very well done, though didn’t think for one moment that was Aaron! So well done to the writers.
Couldn’t believe the stupid comments on Emmerdale’s FB posts, where many viwers kept stating there was a continuity error! Lots more people had put them right, but rather than read everything they still said they were confused over the clothing switch!! Even I got that first time.
They said in the scripts that the TIAs had hastened his deterioration.
I found it very disturbing but, realised that we weren’t meant to recognise the characters, I felt quite disorientated!
I thought the driver was Ross in his taxi though.
I hope I never get dementia, it’s horrible!
I thought that was a stunning episode I got it was Doug straight away but didn’t get Aaron until he looked in the mirror, I thought it was very in Aaron like but then remembered how he was with his paralysed boyfriend and realised just how they have changed his character.
Poor poor laurel, it’s devestating not to be recognised.
They have both put in a lot of research for these roles, the dementia society are very pleased with how they have done it too so I’m pretty sure it’s as accurate as they can make it within the family time confines of the soap.
I agree Julie and they did call it Ashley’s story, in one of the lead up ads, so I realized that it was his story through his eyes, the brief glimpse of the real people was to make us understand that they were the actual people he was thinking about… but he was confused by the different faces.
Unless you have dementia yourself none of us can know what it is really like and I certainly learned a lot more, from watching it, about the traumatic effects that this illness can have on it’s sufferers.
I do agree with Jazzi that it was well done, and I thought Ashley looked and acted very well. Kinda brings home what a dreadful disease this is doesn’t it.
Grrrr that little Dwarf of a woman - Emma! She really is poison. But how nice of Cain to take the blame for Moira.
Still waiting for the Thomas family to view the incriminating footage of Emma bullying Ashley! She was quick to blame someone for hurting her beloved son, but killed her own husband. Deranged!!
She’s a fantastically deranged character, loving to hate her at the moment.
There’s too much Male Kissing going on for me in Emmerdale.
And in Corrie! Makes me swear out loud. I think we should have a 5 second warning so we can look away and put fingers in ears.
No tv show is safe from it and I’m beginning to not want to watch my favourites. So it’s a sign of our times, but does it have to be done so much?

I must be odd I almost cheer,it’s a sign of real equality when we see everyone having a good time on screen I think, only thing bothering me is I want to take shears to that big floppy bit of hair, I hesitate to say fringe it’s far more than that 
I’m fed up with Fin’s new boyfriend already. He is an AWFUL character IMO.
…and he needs a haircut and his 'tasche groomed into a proper shape! Tsk!
