Edmund Fitzgerald, 50th anniversary

Lake Superior, November 10, 1975 they left fully loaded for Cleveland. That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed When the gales of November came early.

The captain wired in he had water comin’ in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went outta sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I grew up in a coastal village & a family friend used to be a priest with the mission to Seamen (Flying Angels.) And thus grew up knowing. Seeing for myself, the power of the sea & knowing several seafaring family’s too.

Gordon Lightfoots amazing track about the sinking has always been a favourite of mine.
