Economics poorly understood by journalists

This is a very interesting commentary. It stems from a review of BBC news reporting on economic issues which shows that most reporting does not understand macro-economic issues / factors / consequences. The worst example being a beeb reporter stating bluntly at one point “the governments credit cards are maxxed out”. Which demonstrates a lack of understanding on national borrowing and how a countries economy differs from a household economy.
I suspect most other news reporting suffers from the same lack of knowledge and understanding. I am even more certain that most non-mainstream media is even more ignorant.
This creates a playing field for politicians to feed in false concepts and the public to be massively mis-informed about major issues and major decisions.
