Easy Celery Soup

Celery soup

1 x head of celery (complete with leaves)
1 x large onion
6 x cloves of Garlic (Italian is best)
1 x Vegetable stock cube
Half pint semi skimmed milk (optional)
1 x teaspoon of sea salt
A lot of fresh ground black pepper.

Roughly chop the vegetables - put in a saucepan with just enough water to cover them. Bring quickly to the boil - add the stock cube, salt and pepper - stir thoroughly then reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are soft.

Allow to cool - then blend - either with a stick blender or, if a smoother texture is required, in a jug blender. Return to saucepan - add the milk - heat - and serve with homemade crusty bread.

I want some and I want it now …

That sounds really good although it does seem like quite a lot of garlic, but I will try that recipe next week thanks.
I love celery and I love soup.

Here’s a lovely thread for you

Easy, tiger!
The recipe looks good though.

I have to be a little more careful since my operation otherwise I would have agreed completely, plus I know they go well together.

I’ll email you some!

Thanks … :exclamation:

E-soup sounds like an expression of gratitude in Yorkshire.

You know I don’t like soup, Minx. :018:

And what’s more: I hate celery. :icon_evil:

But I love you  so I’m going to let you get away with it.

Such a pity Harbal, ST’s recipe is really great hence the mention.

I had no idea that you don’t enjoy celery though. So sorry

I’m sure it is, if you like soup, and you like celery.

No need for sorrow, Minxy, you know I can forgive you anything. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Harbal
