If you hold down your mouse (or equivalent) button as per usual to highlight/select some text, then a “quote” option pops up which you can click on. Works better on a pc than a phone, truth be told.

As I stated earlier, we are all very familiar with pretty much all of Planck’s work - so, yes, this is very obvious and even simplistic. Partial differential equation - not even a complete one.
Ah, but if one were to fully incorporate Gödel’s axiom of incompleteness, then maybe one can only ever consider partials.

Agreed.
To return to topic, and to assist the op, I feel that it would be useful for him to brush up on double integration, since it would enable him to calculate the volume of the troughs, which would also prove useful to determine flow rate to ensure that overflows would remain rare.

Indeed. However that assumes linear flow with change of direction as well as change of speed. That might be sufficient of course. But if the drainage flow became more erratic - perhaps a vortex or completely non-linear - then triple integration, at least, would be required. That said, everyone will benefit from brushing up on basic fluid mechanics.
