The problem with DeSantis is that he is double digit points behind Trump and has got on the “green Net Zero” bandwagon. Thats not popular at all… and the Democrats only have Creepy Joe and conspiracy theorist Kennedy Jr.

I don’t know who as I haven’t been following the would be candidates , however there has to be suitable politicians in America who aren’t approaching their 80s

Hold up, that doesn’t sound very good.
The thing with the Presidential race is that candidates generally have to have two attributes to win. They need name recognition on a national level, and they need experience. People need to know who they are and that they can do the job.
Because the US is big, and the media markets are fragmented, the politicians who have experience can’t get national name recognition without a ton of money to buy tv ads to get their name in front of enough people.
Conversely, celebrities who have name recognition don’t have experience.
Trump had name recognition because of his tv shows, and enough people bought the idea that his business background gave him the experience.
Of all the politicians who ran for President in 2020, the only person with national name recognition was Biden because he had been the Vice-President.
Finding someone with experience and national name recognition isn’t an easy task. Of the politicians who started with no name recognition, they had backers in the media. That’s also not easy to come by.
Unfortunately that leaves us with unpalatable choices.
