You can look up on google all you want about what the word means but in the USA these indictments against trump are not classed as a crime and not punishable by a prison sentence. It’s the same thing as getting a parking ticket. As usual you take the media narrative and that of the left and don’t question anything because it suits your hate agenda.
What will you do when this happens to you ? You should be seriously worried how the USA justice and political system have become the same thing.
Ex-US President Donald Trump is suing his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, for $500m (£400m), alleging breach of contract. He says Cohen breached his duty as attorney to act in his client’s best interests. The lawsuit, filed in a Florida federal court, also accuses Cohen of making “improper, self-serving, and malicious statements about his former client, his family members, and his business”.
Cohen worked as Mr Trump’s attorney for over a decade. He was also a vice-president at the Trump Organization, and was often described as Mr Trump’s fixer. But the two had a major falling out after the 2016 election, as investigators began looking into several of Mr Trump’s aides. In 2018, Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine after pleading guilty to charges of fraud and campaign finance violations. Now out of prison, Cohen has become a high-profile critic of Mr Trump, and a frequent guest on news programmes. He has written a book and hosts a podcast, both of which Mr Trump cites in the lawsuit.
Cohen is a key witness in a New York investigation into Mr Trump, focusing on hush-money paid to a porn star. Cohen has admitted that as Trump’s fixer, he facilitated a $130,000 pay-out to Ms Daniels.
Cohen’s lawyer, Mr Davis, said in a statement to the BBC: “Mr Trump appears once again to be using and abusing the judicial system as a form of harassment and intimidation against Michael Cohen. It appears he is terrified by his looming legal perils and is attempting to send a message to other potential witnesses who are co-operating with prosecutors against him. Mr Cohen will not be deterred and is confident that the suit will fail based on the facts and the law.”
There is a way. The (1) pupils dilate, the (2) lids lower slightly (but the lower lids remain where they are), the (3) carotid pulse increases in strength, (4) tear gland fluid builds in the inside corner of the eye, (5) the person keeps their sentences far shorter than usual, or than expected, or they (6) avoid speaking altogether, even when addressed.
In my childhood neighbourhood, you learned to read people: it was the difference between walking home and crawling home!
Sounds like the South Yorkshire pit village where I grew up in Ian. Reading people was the best way to stay healthy, especially when you weren’t as big as the other lads and you didn’t have a big brother. I chose my best friends carefully, and they were mostly hard men.
If Trump is convicted he will win the 2024 elections by an even bigger margin.
As far as DeSantis is concerned, he is toast - his followers are turning against him and on to Trump. The same for democrats - they are switching to Trump as well.
Hush money case (New York): Trump is facing 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in connection to hush money payments made before the 2016 election to adult film star Stormy Daniels. (as reported here)
everyone appears to be treating him like a normally sane individual. He needs to be assessed by a bona fide psychiatrist and diagnosed from the DSM-5 manual of psychiatric disorders and discharged insane!! he’s not fit to run a playgroup let alone a country??
Lawyers for Donald Trump asked a Manhattan judge to throw out the criminal charges related to Trump’s hush money payments to a porn star, arguing in court filings that the case “has prejudiced President Trump and the public by interfering with his presidential campaign.”
Trump’s lawyers denounced the five years it took for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office to bring the case against Trump, calling it a “delayed prosecution.” And they criticized the timing of the eventual charges, pointing out they stemmed “from a grand jury investigation that commenced approximately ten weeks after President Trump announced his candidacy.”
“After a five-year meandering, halting, and roving investigation that entailed inexplicable and unconstitutional delay, the District Attorney’s Office filed a discombobulated package of politically motivated charges marred by legal defects, procedural failures, discovery violations, and a stubborn refusal to provide meaningful particulars regarding its theory of the case,” the lawyers, Todd Blanche and Susan Necheles, wrote.
Trump’s lawyers now getting desperate to avoid concurrent trials.
The first-ever criminal trial of a former US president is set to start next month, with Donald Trump defending himself against allegations of conducting a hush-money cover-up.
The 77-year-old appeared in court in New York on Thursday, seeking to have the trial dismissed or delayed.
But Judge Juan Merchan was not swayed by arguments that the trial’s timetable would hurt his presidential campaign.
Mr Trump called the decision to start the trial on 25 March a “disgrace”.
“Obviously I’m running for election again. How can you run for election and be sitting in a courthouse in Manhattan all day long?” he said outside the courtroom after the hearing.
Mr Trump’s lawyers had made similar arguments during the pre-trial hearing, but the New York state judge said they were not rooted in law and that he would only delay for legal reasons.
Mr Trump is widely expected to become the Republican nominee for president and face President Joe Biden, a Democrat, in an election rematch in November. He must still go through state primaries to secure the nomination.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has charged the former president with 34 counts of fraud, alleging Mr Trump falsified business records to disguise payments he made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels as legal fees.
No doubt there will be some interesting “moments” …
I’m surprised that some of you are not surprised and shocked by the amount of vigor that’s being employed to try and shut Trump up. I know you don’t like the bloke, but surely even you democrats and Biden supporters must think it’s excessive in a land that’s supposed to be free.
Just think, with such a bent and corrupt judicial system, it could at some point turn on you!
