Dog breeding rackets

The high prices of dogs has lead to increased dog breeding rackets

Such a shame when so many dogs are unwanted and need homes .

Agreed.Breeding dogs for pets should be banned.

I don’t think it should be banned completely and a ban would be impossible to enforce but I do think a moratorium on breeding for a couple of years would be a good idea .

My adopted German Spitz who sadly died of liver cancer last year was used for breeding. She was quite traumatised and hated any metal noises and the “F” which my builder used unfortunately. Thankfully she responded to kindness and we were best friends for 5 years and she hated being separated from me which was rare but sometimes necessary. Miss her so much .

Bad breeding has always gone on, but it is just far more widespread now, and involves a lot of downright cruelty.

One relatively new thing that does alarm me though, is the opening of these back street ’ breeding clinics’, where non-veterinary qualified morons “help” the poor bitches to get pregnant against their will.
The last report I read about this said 20 of these clinics had been unearthed so far.
They are carrying out medical procedures such as taking blood, inserting the male sperm deep into the vagina, and even worse - directly into the bitch’s uterus. Illegal procedures for unqualified staff. They are even offering courses for pet owners to show them how to do it themselves !!

Then there are the backyard breeders just out for making as much dosh as quickly as possible. These vile people are breeding huge males with tiny females who don’t stand a chance of pushing the big puppies through their pelvic bones.

Many ugly, deformed, and totally unhelathy puppies are being born, and the uglier and more deformed they are, the more they sell for.

I am also so mad with the people who buy these animals with no more idea than the man in the moon what they are taking on healthwise, and how much their stupid, thoughtless whims are making this evil trade grow and expand with more and more innocent dogs suffering at the hands of heartless, greedy humans.

I had no idea about this Mups .
I wish there was no dog breeding of any kind for at least a year .
There are going to be more dogs in shelters soon as the pandemic passes and people don’t have time for their pet .

I read an article by a vet who was explaining that interacting with your dog is the best way to bond. After all, you are their whole world, when we have other things to occupy us.

I was shocked and saddened that this even needed to be said!

I wonder why you would get a dog if they don’t want to interact with it ?
I worry about puppies like children they need to be socialised at a young age else like children the small window will pass and it becomes more difficult .
When I lived in the carribean I found that a lot of abused and neglected dogs became loving rescue dogs when adopted . The reason being that so many Carribean people love puppies but kick them out or chain them in the back yard when they are bigger . Poor things having been accustomed to love they then forever miss it.

This makes me sad. I bet it made you want to save them all  And yes, puppies are like children - you need to help them grow and learn all through their lives, not just the first few months.
