I see what you’re saying.
However I watch very little on itv compared to BBC.
Series I watch on BBC…
Gardeners world
Fake or fortune
Countryfile
Proms
Local news
Antique roadshow
Sewing Bee
Would I lie to you
Here we go
Mandy
Have I got news for you …
Can’t think of any on ITV
I use to watch the Great British Bake off untill it switched channels!
It always surprises. Why people are so critical of The TV Licence. And Its Primary No Adverts BBC.
Also giving Freeview access to 100+ Channels.
All for less than 45p/Day. Less than a café Cuppa Tea .
60% Cheaper than ONE Cigarette.
All Legal .
With no anticipation of a Knock at the door by Enforcers.
And partially enhancing the British Economy. As opposed to Overseas registered Providers.
Because one has no input on the BBC’s editorial control. By which I mean that if I don’t like a broadcaster’s perspective on matters, I can choose to not watch it and not contribute towards its funding.
The free view channels are largely self funding via ads, so not really part of the BBC’s income, which mostly comes from the monopoly of the licence fee.
A large proportion of the Funding Is for Maintaining of UK “Transmission Stations and Masts”.
Both Fundamental to ‘ANY’ Broadcaster.
Alternative Networks, funding partly from the Membership/Usage Fees.
If otherwise. The Licence fee would be significantly greater than £170 Pa.
For comparison, compare Wi-Fi/Router cost £Pa.
