Does anyone here work at - or worked at Plymouth Naval Base at Devonport?

Or maybe you live in the area or visit sometimes. Everything in the UK has so much history.
Do you have Plymouth Gin stocked in your bar?
2500 people work at the Naval base.
I come from Tasmania and so many Tasmanian towns have British names.
Some being Beaconsfield, Bellingham, Bishopsbourne, Blackwall, Brighton, Deddington, Devonport, Kempton, Kettering, Launceston, New Norfolk, Orford, Richmond, Sheffield, Somerset, Westbury, Melton Mowbray.
My home town, Queenstown was named after Queen Victoria.

It irks me that there’s so many British town names here, a reminder of when they took the land from the locals.
Alice Springs is named after Alice the wife of Sir Charles Todd. FFS!

I prefer to look at it as those damn pommies using good Australian names for their towns

…and the usually dry Todd River is named after him… However there are a lot of places going back to their original Aboriginal name eg Ayres Rock is now Uluru
