I save a lot of headaches by not answering mine, call notification is off.
I have a camera, translator, remote control, torch, magnifier and so on. And I do enjoy texting, sending brief messages to OFC.
A Walkman, a GameBoy.

Youāre a bit of a gadget freak, d00d !! I do have a basic phone but I very rarely use it - I made one call this year. But I do have a camera.

Iām a two Swiss army knife person.
One was bought in 1972, the other I was given as a present about a decade or so ago. I also have a Victorianox (sp?) multitool thing which is kept in the car.

I sort of believe tying your cell phone with your Vehicle gives em Ai huge info on where you go, what you do and who you call Plus it knows what you say in the vehicle or anywhere. Plus, maybe allow others with Ai to use your passages into stuff.
+++ control of your homes heat AC if they choose to mess it up. I can remember home phone and Party lines were all about control, control, control, canāt even call a neighbor until they sut the f___ up. I had to be rude to get them off it. Then it was click, click, click, click, click listening in. I donāt need to include the Internet, I know there are types on it trying to control what you say, think, do and more with there constant control also + Adds constantly running and the use of knowing your Credit card Number.

I think it is important to remember that data gathering exercises are about data en-masse. When you think of all the millions of cars and mobiles phones out there, unless you are a criminal drawing attention to yourself, why is anyone interested in singling you out personally from the millions/billions of data points out there. Itās almost a bit presumptious to assume that anyone/youself is that special that you would be targetted specifically. Data en-masse doesnāt actually do anyone any specific harm and probably does a lot of good. OK, you might get a few targetted advertisements, but you are not alone in that and itās only the same advertisements that millions of others get - an advertisement is hardly going to do you real harm, and you are certainly not being directly targetted in the absence of anyone else. I think it is important to keep these things in perspective and not be the target for conspiracy theorists (which let face it is only a different sort of advertising to get you to believe something) - the āmanā is not out to get you. No-one is that important.

Good post JOC but I suppose itās the thought of some hacker also seeking out your personal info and targeting you. Some of these date collection sites have, and will be, hacked quite frequently.
Nobody minds if the information harvested is kept safe.
Just because you are paranoid doesnāt mean that somebody isnāt out to get you or your money.

I am the rightful owner of me data.
Rather than think that someone is out to get you, I think the better question to ask is why you and not one of the millions of others that they probably have similar info. on? Donāt get me wrong, yes, occasionally folks do get done. You do read about them, but itās often just about a applying a little common sense. Itās like a huge flock of starlings in a murmuration, OK sometimes the peregrine grabs one, but thousands are exposed to a similar risk and get away with it and in internet land you are probably adding zeros to all those figures. I personally think the percentage risk of a specific individual being target is probably very low, you are probably at greater risk driving to the shops tomorrow.

I always throw in some red herrings, they might think they know about me but thatās my alter ego they are chasing. Theyāre on a wild goose chase. They couldnāt care less of course, Iām just another prospective buyer whoās not.
