Does anyone else not have a mobile phone?

And yes, I do have a basic mobile phone but I very rarely used it - I used it once so far this year. It doesn’t help that my hearing is defective.

That completely makes sense. Phone calls can be such a hassle when hearing is an issue, so sticking to text or forums like this is way more comfortable! Using it once all year sounds pretty peaceful, honestly!

According to my phone yesterday I used it 17 minutes more than the previous week. I think it is spying on me.

Thank you kindly, Emma. Easy life ? Maybe sociable might be part that too with friends and neighbours. That’s just us.

That sounds wonderfully refreshing! Honestly, nothing beats a quick chat over the fence or dropping by a neighbor’s place for coffee. That face-to-face connection is something screens just can’t replace!

Maybe you can shut off screen time? I mostly use my phone for Text Messaging. Emergency calls, a couple, just talk to close loved ones thru text messages.

I love that minimalist approach! It’s way too easy to get sucked into apps when all we really need is just a way to stay in touch with family. Keep setting the good example! :+1:

I think that time refers to phone calls, I don’t think I have ever used face time which I presume means video calls.

My mobile is my only phone so all phone calls to and from me are made on it as are probably 80% of my personal emails. However I rarely use it for accessing the internet as the screen is too small however it is used as a hotspot for my laptop and my drone.

Same here Bruce, very rarely use it for accessing the internet, the screen is far too small to be of any use except when I’m in hospital, then I can visit the forum while away.

Yes i totally agree to that

My phone cost me £9.99 about a decade ago and just does calls and texts.
And I only got that because a major fault on the local system meant no landline for three weeks.
Although somehow the internet still worked.
My County cricket club has to send me a physical membership card when they would prefer me to display it on a smartphone.
It seemed to come as a shock to them when they introduced it that not everyone has smart phones!
I have three friends who don’t have the internet at all…let alone a smartphone.
They seem to rely on me for information a lot!

Haha, good for you sticking to your guns on that physical card! :credit_card: It’s crazy how companies just assume everyone wants an app for every single thing now. Sounds like you’ve basically become the official village news network for your friends!

Its more fun being the village idiot
