Doctors - do you trust them?

Could manage about 5 minutes these days. Father Time is catching me up. I have done lots of dancing, modern, sequence, line dancing, bopping:-D still dance…but mainly in the kitchen on my own…then again if I do dance I still dance like no-one is there, get lost in the music. I very often watch the DVD “Dirty Dancing” and join in. It gives the grandkids a laugh.

Nothing to say you have to spoil others little jokes either by taking them so seriously

I can see this from both sides having worked in health systems around the world. UJ was just making a jovial comment about taking medicinal brandy - he was NOT prescribing it and anyway his advice would not be taken too seriously I am sure.

Pats was respomding from a professional point of view and saying that recommending brandy was not a wise choice but his recommendations would not necessarily been acknowledge or acted upon.

We have had examples on this forum of members advising other members about medications and changing their medications and this has been vigorously challenged by health professionals here.

ps: UJ go and get some medical training before prescribing brandy !!!

and Pats you are not the personal health professional for the son of Mickb and therefore IMO don’t need to defend him so vigorously as I am sure Mickb and son can make their own informed decisions!!

This is a forum for adults, I am pretty sure everyone here would have known UJ was joking - he even put three winks in there for good measure…

Anyway, time to move on, back to the topic now please

And? ;-);-)

I don’t trust doctors anymore…I have letters begging me to go for certain tests…breast screening…cervical screening…

It is big business now…usually for the Pakistani ‘‘doctors’’ in my local health centre…

Why “doctors” and what has their ethnicity got to do with the subject ?

Because our local ‘‘health centre’’ is Pakistani doctors only…I have never received such bad treatment…10 mins each…it is a conveyor belt…

Ours is bad too the ethnicity of the GP is not relevant though so not sure why being Pakistani is relevant.

Because my dear Julie…I believe they are out to make as much money as they can…

I said ‘‘Pakistani’’ because they are…since when did this become an insult??

Did I say it was an insult ? no just that I couldn’t see why it made any difference to the story.

Because all our doctors are Pakistani…They are a thieving, robbing blight on our NHS…when I go to a doctors…I would really like to be able to understand them…

Not being shown the ‘‘exit’’ door with another bottle of pills that they probably have a financial interest in…

Geddit yet?

Don’t you believe in prevention or early diagnosis then Lilac?:frowning:

But a lot of us are suffering the same from our GPs too and their race has nothing to do with it. Gedditt at all ?

Lilac why don’t you change you doctor if you are not satisfied. The surgery I go to has different nationalities working there as I imagine most do. If I need to see a doctor I’m glad to see any, we also have a 5/10min slot as most surgeries do.

Nothing to say that being serious is a forum crime either or do you know different.?

No…I believe that when you have ‘‘symptoms’’…you go and see your doctor…

My youngest son has never been to a dentist…his teeth are white and cavity free…

Sometimes symptoms don’t always manifest until things have got a foothold Lilac.:frowning:

Unlike you Gabi…I am not glad to ‘‘see any’’…I want a doctor who knows what he’s talking about…not a doctor that gains a hundred quid when the 10 minute bell has rung…

I would also like to be able to understand them…and hope that they haven’t got their qualifications from the back of a cornflake packet…

Some of our GPs are not very good, but I never doubt they are qualified, if you have real doubts you should make formal complaints because unqualified practitioners cannot be allowed to practice.
