I have had to hire one today because mine broke down yesterday.
A day before I am going on a 11 day holiday.
What a dog’s breakfast it is navigating these sites.
Trying to find a deal that is acceptable takes quite a while. Not willing to give these people any amount they ask for.
Choosing Ace Car Rentals, at $31.50 a day, together with ad-ons, the total is $394.50.
Ad ons included - Registration Recovery Fees: $3/day = $33, admin fees - $15.

Onerous identification documents required.
100 point ID check - Drivers License + Utility bill no more than 3 months old.
2 proof of address documents.
$700 security bond

I came across a site that stipulated in the term and conditions - any damage to windscreen will incur a $5000 charge. Vehicle not returned with same amount of fuel - a charge of $25 + fuel at $3.50/litre.

Yes I hired a car twice last year .
While waiting & waiting for my new car to arrive !

I needed a larger car for holidays I intended taking.
Can’t recommend Toyota Car Hire enough …I got to drive a lovely Rav
Brilliant no hassle service all that was required license and passport or other recognised ID.

There was a returnable deposit, I believe I also paid an extra approx £10 for an Insurance it wasn’t compulsory.

My booking and collection from Ace Car Rentals was painless in the end.
All those id documents were not necessary even though it is stipulated on their site.
Only needed to produce drivers licence and credit card. Drove away inside 10 minutes.
