Do you take any vitamins, minerals or any other kind of supplements?

no definately not and never would if possible. If you start letting “artifical” substances into your body then your own natural protection/defence is not going to do its job. Relying on pills and potions is never ever a good idea, people take them because of heavy advertising and being pushed by DR’s and they more than likely get a rake of from the suppliers…
If you have a medical condition such as high blood pressure as I doand have to take a pill that is something different

I vaguely remember reading that 10 minutes a day exposure in the sun to your arms and face gives you sufficient vitamin D in SE Australia

But it is a well known fact that your immune system gets less effective in older people.

Just as my father’s attitude towards pills, tablets and the likes, we don’t like the fact that they’re required daily, weekly or even monthly.

However, I gag really badly to anything liquid. In the early 1960s, Penicillin for an acute chest infection, was in liquid form. It looked like tapioca pudding and urgh it made me throw up.

So, to be honest with you, a wee unflavoured pill is much preferred.

When you shop for vitamins and minerals, check the bottles labels. If nontransparent, it usually has a pic about the tablet’s size which is convenient.

VitDirect multivitamins available in 120 tablets for good low price are quite small. They’re to be found at HomeBargains UK. If you want consultation and better choices, visit your local Holland and Barrett.

They have a new packaging and formulation with and without iron which has shown up on their website. Here’s the link:

Quite right, too much sun is worse than not getting enough. I’m not sure how much sun we should be exposing ourselves to. However, it all depends on the amount of exposure (how much skin is exposed) and it varies with the country, time of year, and even time of day. The amount of vitamin D is also dependent on diet as well as exposure to the sun. Generally speaking though, the sun on the body is good and it produces feel good endorphins. Just look at cats appetite for laying in the sun. They know what’s good for them…
