I buy the own brand quick oats in a plastic bag too but I once I open them I transfer them to a container in which I keep a measuring cup (not a Tupperware container but similar)
I always re-seal everything. Porridge is the hardest. The pouring spout is closed with a little door, very fiddly. There’s always Selotape!
