I often read reviews when I want to purchase something. I concentrate on the negative reviews. They are most likely more honest than many of the positive reviews.
Maybe you need a new heater. Which one is the most reliable?
Especially handy when looking for accommodation. Several times I have rejected places because of negative reviews
Before I bought my Air Conditioner I read a lot of reviews. Because they expensive to buy and install. about $1600.
Checked out portable ones at half the price.
Almost all the reviews said, “Noisy”. So a wall mounted one it will be.
Have chose one that cost approximately $1200 installed.
The landlord will allow me to install it.
Never tbh.
As i believe some people love to leave nasty comments because the are spiteful.
I have yet to have anything i have purchased to be anything but reliable.
Here in the UK for air conditioning all we have to do is open a window or door. Works out a lot cheaper
That system doesnt work too well on 40+ days.
Yes, I do and read the feedback given by buyers.
As there are an increasing number of unbearably hot days and nights in summer and I don’t have air con, which forced me to leave the doors open during the night, I decided to buy a fan at least. Waiting for Black Friday , I got a Levoit tower fan 30% off. Noise was my major concern. It’s been tested to be reasonably silent (whisper-quiet) in sleep mode (28 db). Then I learnt that there’s even one with 20 db but it costs 50 quid more. Too late. Will see how loud it is when I unbox it probably on Sunday.
Hope it will do its job as advertised and confirmed by other buyers.
We have a “which magazine” account so we have a look what they have to say
I have to see what the product looks and feels like before buying, and I have to talk to a knowledgeable salesman which leads to other questions I hadn’t considered. I read about it online, sift through the reviews, and at the end of the day I either forget the whole thing or buy the updated version of my old one.
I certainly do, I’m not an impulse buyer. I go through the reviews on Amazon or Argos for example. It took me about a month to make a decision on my new work boots!
I’d never buy boots/shoes on the net without trying them on. (if that’s what you did).
In fact, I buy shoes in a shoe shop, keep the labels attached, wear them at home for a fortnight before deciding: keep or return?
Depends on what I’m buying. The most recent expensive purchase was a mirrorless camera, having made the jump from a DLSR. I needed a professional camera as I was doing some commissioned work and thought it was about time I upgraded. I must have spent weeks on end going through as many reviews and forums before coming round to deciding which one and taking the plunge - as well as factoring what I could afford. Thus far, I feel I made the right choice.
I’m confident with certain brands d00d, hence the shopping around. Doctor Martens always a size nine, hiking boots a size ten, my work boots are usually by Magnum size nine although my latest purchase is in nine and a half, life in the fast lane, never a dull moment…
I thought that with DM’s but my last pair took me some time to get used to.Never before.I see they were made in Taiwan though,so I’ll have to have a rethink for my next.
I’m a bit of an anorak as far as this subject is concerned.
Check out Solovair, the quality is superb although reflected in the price!
Yes. If I’m planning to buy something from a company I have never used before, I read as many reviews I can find. I don’t just focus on the negative reviews or the “everything is brilliant” reviews - I look at them at all and you can often tell whether the reviewer is being overly flattering or just a grumpy git who is never satisfied with anything - sometimes, the mixed reviews giving you the pros and the cons give you more info about the elements that are more important to you.
Oops! That was meant as a reply to Bretrick’s OP not Chilli’s post about Boots - despite my name, this Boot knows nowt about Chilliboot’s type of Boots !
Yes, I do read the reviews, both good and bad.
Some may be grumbles, others too flattering, so I read all and then decide.
Too tight across the shoulders? Maybe she’s broader than me.
Too flimsy? What will I wear over it.
Sleeves too long… Nope, I’ve got shorter arms.
Stiff material…depends on what it is.
Then, take a deep breath, sleep on it, and the next day see if I still am interested in “the perfect purchase” enough to take a chance.
How very dare you!
