I find this really strange.
An Executor is a person or institution appointed by a testator to carry out the terms of their will.
Surely that encompasses females?
An Executrix is a female appointed to carry out the terms of a will.

No, but I know what excruciating is
sounds a bit like an actor (encompasses females)
and an actress (females only)
I think the word âExecutrixâ is regarded as an historic term nowadays and hasnât been used in legal documents for years.
The legal profession probably eventually realised it was daft to have two different words for people who perform exactly the same function!
Like most of those nouns describing an occupation which had a different suffix tacked on to it if a woman was doing the work, the âfeminine suffixâ has been dropped now.
Most of them sounded rather cumbersome, anyway.
Have you ever seen a Museum refer to a female Curator as a Curatrix?
Iâve heard of Bellatrix Lestrange.
Bellatrix is also the brightest star in Orionâs Belt.
Just thought Iâd mention it
After a lifetime of doing it, I find it difficult not to call an actress an actress.
Executrix - Looking at it quickly, I thought it was a make of washing machine.
Yes, thereâs some occupations which I find difficult to break the habit of using the feminine form of -
Waitress is one -
Another one is Headmistress
Some old habits die hard
Is it the same as a dominator and a dominatrix
Trust youâŠ
I still like to refer to myself as a âPostmanâ and a lady as a âPostwomanâ
Postperson is just silly and gets a red squiggly line under it when I write it in my replyâŠ
My nephew refers to himself as a Postie -
I think thatâs how Royal Mail describe their postal delivery staff too.
I think it has a much friendlier sound than âPostmanâ or âPostwomanâ
I think youâll find itâs non identifiable , gender neutral, letter delivery individualâŠ
What next âPostie Patrickâ
Postwoman Patricia
Junk Mail Jack
Junk mail JaqulineâŠ
Sexi Sam??
Would âSexi Samâ actually be delivering the mail if she had certain qualitiesâŠ?
