I went and viewed the UK population counter site. I was hit with malware that locked my computer.
Loud siren blaring, page flashing - Warning, your computer address has been hacked, do not attempt to turn off your computer…
I turned off the laptop, turned on again 5 minutes later, working, ran a scan, no embedded malware.
One never knows what sites are going to have this maliciousness attached.
Not enough deaths?I think there are some evil old men trying to rectify that at the moment.

It seems that the aid and charity efforts to reduce famine, improve health and reduce child mortality are really delivering improvements.
What perhaps should have been pushed for at the same time, and is now urgently needed, is more women’s education, more sex education and contraception availability and more work opportunities for women. That is, in the very same countries benefitting from the existing aid and charity investment. The link between educating and empowering women and reduce birth rates is well proven. Besides, no-one wants to see down-trodden, repeated baby, practically enslaved women - do they? (It’s why the evangelical right in the US wants to take all that away from women.)
