If they don’t cough they are far less likely to fill the air with it.
So, your rights trumps the rights of others. A “vaxed” person can most certainly be at risk, I’ve received a covid shot every year since they have been out, and I’ve had Covid twice. Researchers estimate that people who get infected with COVID-19 can spread it to others 2-3 days before symptoms start and are most contagious 1-2 days before they feel sick.
There is evidence that tobacco smoking exacerbates the risk of COVID-19. The risk of COVID-19 infection varies between current and former smokers. Upregulation of angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 facilitates SARS-CoV-2 binding, but smoking damages your lungs and can affect other organs of your body. This exposes smokers to a greater risk of getting severe Covid19 symptoms. As you may be aware Covid19 primarily attacks the respiratory system and lungs. As far as kissing goes, if anything it put one at greater risk. close contact.
I know, too many theories flying around.
Best done in a surgical mask.
“Freedom”.
Without a Moral Compass, Discipline and Respect 4 others.
Wat Next ?
“A ban to stop Flat-U-Lence” !!!
Respect is a 2 way street, you receive what you give.
Very true senile1,baffling really.
I used to love those, thought to be milder than regular ciggies, but in fact a bigger risk because people would take bigger drags. Apparently they were banned in 2020. A pack of 20 Consulate was just the tonic.
Not at all senile, but do you drive? Isn’t that quite selfish? Pumping out all those toxic fumes, and it’s harder for people to avoid those like they can by crossing the street to avoid a smoker. How far do you want to go with this guilt trip?
Senile reckons that you can infect someone before symptoms appear d00d…
I used to think that Annie but I was watching Mortimer and Whitehouse, ‘gone fishing’ last night.
Mortimer explained that when he was in hospital following his heart attack, he asked the nurse what was the profile of most of the people on the coronary ward, she replied…“55 year old marathon runners”…When I was having my pacemaker fitted the nurse keeping an eye on my stats commented about my low blood pressure and slow heart rate were, I explained that I have been a runner most of my life and she replied…“We get a lot of runners in here”…
Perhaps it wasn’t the smoking after all…I’m glad I stopped when I did though…
Actually, it’s not a guilt trip, it’s about respecting the rights of others who choose to avoid those who refuse to comply with medical / health recommendations and / or other people’s habits for their own comfort / health / safety, respect is a 2 way street. You make your choice, I make mine, I respect yours, you respect mine (or others), and we both live with the consequences, seems if anyone is experiencing a quilt trip, it’s you.
yes perhaps marathon running is a greater risk factor for heart disease (and COPD and lung cancer?) than smoking.
or perhaps not.
Senile “reckons” nothing, just stating scientific fact, you can research it if you like (or just depend on your own unproven theories).
Scientific Facts keep changing, what’s happening at the LHC, we’ve had no input since Jems departure?
Perhaps you were not the only smoker running marathons?
Kissing perhaps. I don’t know.
Isn’t that true of the common cold and flu too?
Scientific fact my buttocks!
Seems like everything today uses the phrase ‘Scientific Fact’ to prove if something is Kosha or not. Before you rely on ‘Scientific Fact’ you need to establish who is producing the scientific fact, who finances the people providing the ‘scientific fact’ and from where, and then doing research to find alternative theories, which there always are, and then cherry pick the ones that best serve your beliefs.
I use a much more reliable and trusted method…
I’ve had seventy four years of experience in life, avoiding things that cause me pain and/or suffering, and enjoying the things that keep me healthy, happy and fit. I think I’m doing well up to now, so you can believe all the scientific theory you want senile, but I’ll keep an open mind thank you…
I don’t need ‘Scientific Theory’ to tell me that if I put my hand in a fire it will burn me…
Dunno Bruce, I’m not a medical specialist like senile, and he reckons it’s true. Personally I just avoid people…
