Today started quite well. Going to Visit Friends this afternoon and will take some shortcake that I was about to make…did make it and did test it. mmm…yummie yum
WARNING CONTAINS BLOOD…
An hour later a sudden squirt of blood shot from my ankle…everywhere it went…
Shocked so phone the emergency number…Puts you through to the Pompiers… the Fire Brigade who gently Question you and have a suitable translator at hand…end up with a 3 way conversation, not that your meant to… he said we are on our way.
,
Was just the one Fireman at the door, in no time at all.
then two more then two more…
Five fireman in my small living area…well they said after taking my blood pressure… done both arms separately… and thermometer in Lughole also those peg thingies on a finger,of each hand…one at a time…
Hospital…I said do I have to as the bleeding has now slowed considerably…
They said let me see you walk…So I went outside and walked carefully…needed to as felt a tad weird…The one said sit down and he grabbed a chair to put up my leg again…
.No I was not going to Hospital…So was left that I call then again if need be…or go to Ruffec Hospital…
Had a couple of session of bleeding again with …Husband now getting cross with me…
I said I could do with some lunch first…So he made be a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea…
Now he said…gather you things…we are out of here…Leave the mess and do what I am telling you…
Had a black sack on my foot and under that was lots ot soaking up materials…
Imagining what the hell it is like for the Police and Medics when facing all that blood, when somebody cuts their throat…yuk…
Strange how the mind can wander, to much more horrors events than a small blood vessel bursting
My Nurse has arrived (Husband infact to bind my leg with waterproof fabric enabling me to shower…)
bet your looking forward to some Photos…now…
The Shower Patch is more interesting than the ‘wound’…
Now my’Waiter’ has arrived with my evening meal…
Our medical services work with the Pompiers…the Fire Service.
They are Qualified Medics and are used the same as UK Ambulance Drivers…
The Bleed was a small surface blood vessel, apparently…No answer to why, although I do a lot of foot work more than…
I can imagine it being very worrying for both you and your husband, but it’s good to see that you’re okay other than losing a bit of blood.
That stuff goes a long way as you found out and it can be scary to see, although often it’s not quite as alarming as it looks but still … at least you’re sorted and at home rather than being passed from pillar to post in some busy hospital.
Have some e-flowers and some e-grapes, so you don’t miss that hospital feeling.
Thankyou…
The Hospital has all main departments plus A&E, but was so quiet.
You can’t enter until a member of staff allows you to.
The first thing is cleanse hands and then they take your Temperature…then your headed to admin…
I was wheeled about which I kept going to get up and out of and they are there…no no no…Madam Dianne…
Then it off to a single room and I was lucky as a British Nurse introduced herself to me and we had loads and loads of chatter, yes we put the worlds to right… whilst others, were studying my leg…
.I saw two people queuing for A & E…that was on my way back to the waiting room.
They had even phoned My Husband to return of me…haha wonder if he will turn up…
There was basically Silence in the Hospital which obviously is not always the case…Our first occasion a few years ago, was certainly busier, but still very peaceful. Just do not expect edible food…
Minx I am really good this morning although I kept waking in the night which is just the way things happen sometimes…
I can reflect on my stubbornness, just dig a hole for myself by not doing what professional people know best. I thought it would cure itself over the course of the Day…
Yes the fireman were like that…in my imagination and obviously in Trixie Knuckles also… …
…I have to keep my leg upwards for a few days still, but hey no big deal…
The Hospital staff were all Gems, they did what they know is the best course which is pressure on the bleed point and keep the leg upwards to slow the flow…not much else they can do.
Obviously it was a tiny blood vessel so no other treatment…
It sounded worse than is was…anything with blood always is scary and dramatic…
Hopefully no repeated episodes…
