Watching the news these days you would think it was being read by someone who has just got out of bed without looking in the mirror at all or dragging a comb through their hair. It’s all very well saying looks don’t matter, but a bit of effort goes a long way if you’re on telly in the morning.
Half of the presenters these days look as though they have been burning the candle at both ends and no time to shower. One presenter was reading the mainstream news in a denim shirt, which is all well and good on a children’s programme, but detracts from the seriousness of the subjects somewhat.
I’m getting the impression some presenters are interns or filling in for colleagues on holiday or off sick.
Still I guess it’s better than an AI newsreader which is perhaps the future?

I like to see all people well turned out and smart if they’re newsreaders or in a high profile job.
Appearances make an impact.
No one seems to make the effort anymore.
