Oh dear! :slightly_smiling_face:

You wild black sheep, you.

Ah! You must be a Police Officer?

Some not very helpful people on here, I’m afraid.
Still, you’ve now come to the best place. I can help.
The problem is very easily solved, I’m sure you’ll be pleased to hear.
Here is the procedure I recommend:

  1. Keep your eyes open.
  2. Blink every few seconds.
  3. When you go to sleep, it is perfectly safe to keep your eyes closed until you wake up.
  4. If you are at all afraid when asleep, or when otherwise closing your eyes temporarily, open them immediately and the frightening things will instantly vanish…
unless, of course, the frightening things are there when your eyes are open.
    If so, run away.

I find the easiest way to continue seeing when eyes are closed is to close only one eye at a time. You can either keep one eye closed for, say, 5 minutes, and then close the other for 5 minutes, or you can alternate more quickly, rather like winking with alternate eyes. You can quickly get into a rhythm and it just becomes normal behaviour.

Unfortunately, when you are out and about, other people don’t see it as normal behaviour and you are likely to get some strange looks.

Warning. Don’t perform this procedure in front of a young lady, especially if she looks a little worried when you do it.
On the other hand, she might react unexpectedly and jump on top of you.
Scary.

Strange dilemma, indeed.

My advice to you is to keep your eyes closed, but open the blinds on your windows. It will be a lighter dark… see how that works for you.

Oh, l see… Tell you what, realspeed…l’ll keep an eye open for you!!

Well I can see that Harbal has some competition.

It sounds like you’ve got your eyes closed as well then, Psmithy. :slightly_smiling_face:

I thought you would have welcomed another philosopher and profound seeker of truth.
