Declawing Cats

Quite an interesting article here:

Another problem with banning imports is, the customs people don’t seem able to check each and every animal, especially when crate loads arrive together.

They would have to take every single cat or dog out of their travelling crates and inspect it.
I bet most of these workers don’t even know the animals head from it’s rear end, and are not likely to check thousands of tiny declawed kitten toes, cropped ears, birth certificates, health certificates, vaccination certificates . . etc.
The criminals know this. How many airport workers are trained to be able to tell an animals age by looking at it? How many can tell the difference between a 5 week old kitten/puppy and a 12 week old youngster?
And this is why under age animals who should still be with their mothers, are getting taking away and exported instead.

Horrifying to think this mutilation is still going on.

Any pet should be a part of the family. If it is doing something you don’t like you can hardly blame them.

It’s a horrid practice that serves no purpose , no way does it benefit the cat, leaving the poor animal totally defenceless.
It’s akin to docking dogs tails and ears another hideous cruelty
