Dealing with banks can be frustrating at times

My tap and go on my card stopped working.
Ordered new card.
Go online to activate. Use chat facility. Whilst chatting, I am automatically logged out
Start again, validation code never came. What did arrive was, a message saying - “You have activated SMS service.”
Request code again, comes through.
Adjust card settings, Tap and Go Australia would not work. Go through other settings, one of these settings allowed the tap and go Australia to be adjusted.
All up it took 25 minutes to complete the card activation

I haven’t actually used the facility but the bank’s app on my phone does all that. In fact it handles every banking transaction you can think of (one of the big four).

I never deal with bank apps. My husband does all our banking but I DID go into my bank with my husband the other day to get a GiC. We now have some savings earning a good percentage.

You should try one they are brilliant.

No matter where I am I can transfer money, check on my account, pay bills all from my phone. The only proviso is a phone signal but that is getting less of a problem these days, even the tiniest town in the back of beyond has a signal.

No more worrying if there is a bank in town. If you don’t like the app you can always delete it.

Thank you. Maybe someday I might. I’m terrible with computer technology. I’m constantly forgetting my passwords.

Actually I log in to my bank with a thumb print on my phone though there is a 4 digit PIN too. It is worth the effort and so convenient.

When I am shopping no sooner have I got the receipt from the checkout chick than the phone beeps to tell me how much I just spent.

Well that’s very cool. No need for a password
I’m interested so many I’ll check it out.
Thanks again.

Keep you card(s) in a metallic scan proof holder, and your new one wont be corrupted by a stray magnetic force … tis a common problem.
If I receive a new card it is easily activated by any LINK cash machine providing I uas my existing PIN, or I nip into my local branch and do it there.

I gave up on the conventional array of banks and now all my banking is done via The Nationwide which is a building society with full banking facilities … best decision I’ve ever made moneywise👍
