Managed to get to a local bird sanctuary last weekend, taking advantage of the weather and took this pic of a Great Horned Owl during a display.

Whats to stop him flying off ? impressive bird .
Nothing. He wasn’t tethered or anything. But he is trained and knows where his food is coming from.

Wonderful bird Graham, and such a great shot of him. When I belonged to a camera club some years ago, every so often a fellow from a local owl sanctuary would bring some of his birds along so we all got a chance to photograph them. They were all so tame, and so well behaved, posing for our cameras like pros!
