The only collective I know of are Borg .[ Star Trek] The Borg are a collection of species that have turned into cybernetic organisms functioning as drones of the collective or the hive. Borg is an acronym for “blackout rage gallon.”
I don’t know much about Dawn Butler, to be honest.
She’s not my MP or in the government cabinet and I don’t follow the careers of all of the back bench MPs, unless they are in the news for doing something special.
As I understand it, this latest spat is about a Tweet that somebody else wrote and posted on X.
Nels Abbey is a British-Nigerian satirical author and he wrote a satirical piece about Badenoch becoming leader of Tory Party.
He posted it on X
Dawn Butler “re-tweeted” it but didn’t write anything herself about it.
The news reports say Butler “quickly deleted” the re-tweet.
It doesn’t say how “quickly” - a few minutes? , a few hours? a few days?
I have no idea if she realised herself that it wasn’t a good idea for an MP to share contentious satire on social media or if someone else noticed it and suggested she delete it.
Some people are claiming that by re-tweeting the post, she “appeared to endorse it”
If they are using that logic, then presumably by deleting the re-tweet she has appeared to acknowledge her mistake of sharing it in the first place.
I can’t see the point of stoking the story any further when she has already acknowledged her mistake of sharing it by quickly deleting the re-tweet.
