Cryptic Films

This is probably the shortest answer we’ve had in this thread. The exclamation mark should make it easier…

This 1960s film had 4 male stars, two of whom are still alive.

Help!

Absolutely right Devo - over to you…

Thank you. Next film…

William, George and grave diggers.

Dead poets society

No, it’s older than that, being released in the 1980s. The star of the film was well known for various films plus, especially, a famous TV series.

The writer, director and co-star of the film has a similar association.

The Dead Zone?

Not that one. The main stars of this film are both dead. One was better known than the other and they were friends in the Real World, hence their collaborations. Reading about this film, it led to an abortive legal action accusing the makers of Die Hard of plagiarism. From memory, it seems a bit unlikely beyond a superficial similarity.

The clue is two definitions to the two parts of the title, one a bit loose, one a bit cryptic.

Kings and Desperate Men?

yes, well done! A fairly enjoyable film starring Patrick McGoohan and Alexis Kanner who also appeared in The Prisoner a couple of times.

Thanks Devo. Hadn’t heard of that one.

Calendar girl gatherings directed back inside.

Calendar Girl gatherings = WIs

Directed back = sent back = tnes

Hence Witness.

Over to you.
