Phew! Thank god for that. It’s a chance to forget England’s performance in India ![]()
Brett Randell becomes the first player in the history of first-class cricket to take 5 wickets in 5 balls.
I thought only some people from Yorkshire would be interested in that.
Wow!
I’ve seen a four in four balls in a second XI county game.
Soon will be cricket season.
i’ll stick to two
The boys were playing cricket
the ball went up the trouser leg
and hit the middle wicket
Ouch !!!
Anybody batting for the other team on here?
All of Emmerdale it seems, my wife watches the rubbish. Are they all like that up there?
Aren’t all actors ‘Luvvies’ Davey?..
Sure seems that way OGF, it is a sort of conversion programme.
Have you noticed the heavy square-end bats they use these days, how I would have loved one in my younger days. Even thought of buying one for old times sake. Strange that, do others buy things as they age, as they could not have had one when a lad?
Maybe those are because of the new square balls used in cricket
Yes, absolutely!
Vintage fishing tackle, the kind of gear I couldn’t afford as a kid. Much window shopping on eBay although so far I’ve resisted the temptation!
A man after my own heart, except I have gone reverse and sold all mine, much unused, including Centre Pins and Hardy rods, some still looking new after years of service. For sentimental reasons I kept two Avon split cane rods which I purchased while still at school, paying sixpence a week, funded by my Sat trade-bike veg delivery round which paid Five Shillings.
That was after facing an over from Malcolm Marshall ![]()
Well, it’s good to read that you kept those two split cane Avon rods, bet they’re beauts!
I’ve always wanted to use a quality centre pin for trotting on The Thames, deffo on my to do list!
Good old days Chilliboot. As a young lad still at school, when it was sunshine every day and it stayed light untl 11pm, I played cricket for the old boys team and went fishing the next Sunday. My favourite spot was over 20 miles away and I went on my old home made bike. Perhaps you might recognize it?
It’s very picturesque, I’m sorry to say I don’t recognise it.
Richmond and Kingston upon Thames were our favourite haunts. Your picture certainly isn’t from that neck of the woods…clue please? ![]()
I imagine that you pass it quite often, but alas it is now rather hidden from the road. Oh sorry just noticed that you may no longer drive, but right county.
