Covid-19 Vaccinations

I had the AstraZeneca vaccine at our local GP’s practice. I was told to sit in my car for 10 minutes before I drove off. I felt okay and waited a couple of minutes.

The 15min waiting time is just to make sure you don’t have an immediate reaction to the OxAZ vaccine if you’re driving (V had to wait because she was driving, I walked straight out - but had to wait in the car for her).

The Pfizer vaccine has been linked to anaphylactic shock in some recipients so, there’s a definite need to sit and wait a while after having that one.

I think that is almost certainly the case. Going by the queue outside and the speed in which we were dealt with, I’m sure that there wouldn’t have been space for us all to wait for 15 minutes.

Having mentioned that I had no untoward reactions to my vaccination yesterday, this morning I woke up with a headache and have felt tired all day.
No problem, though. I took a couple of paracetamol tablets and had another sleep earlier today. Fine now.

After ours, we were all told to wait in our cars in the car park for 15mins and if any reaction appeared in that time, stay in the car, sound the horn and one of the copious ‘helpers’ would come to us.

Mrs mart had the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday. We arrived earlier than the appointment time but she was ushered straight in because there was no queue.

I expected to have to wait in the car for at least 20 minutes but she was out in half that time. They said there was no need for her to wait before leaving.

No ill-effects so far.

Hi

I tested positive in Hospital.

I have to wait 28 days for my jab.

Oh lord Swimfeeders, that on top of everything else. How far along are you on your Covid journey? Hope you’re not feeling too bad with it.

I had my jab yesterday morning ,this morning woke feeling dizzy, a bit nauseous, and freezing cold, very tired and achy flu like symptoms, I’ll just take paracetamol till it goes away, it was the Pfizer vaccine I got…

Paracetamol is exactly what they say you should take Paula, so I hope you are feeling much better soon.
I would think that all our bodies are working overtime to deal with producing antibodies, but I am hoping that is good & we can fight Covid better with the help of those antibodies.
To cheer yourself up, look how well Scotland are doing in the rugby! :001:

Hi Paula  sorry to hear you are not feeling great, my neighbour felt exactly the same and like me had the AZ vaccine.
Snuggle up under a duvet if you can until you feel better.

Hope you will feel better soon Paula, the paracetamol should help you.

Thanks all…I’m just having a lazy day…

I’m supporting Scotland now after some of the English team gave it the knee. I’ll probably never support the England Rugby Team again until they grow up and kick politics out of sport. Disgraceful!

I agree. All this woke nonsense about taking the knee is pathetic. What do they hope to achieve, other than encouraging people like the BLM and other anarchists?

Just had my Pfizer jab this afternoon - so well organised by friendly and supportive staff. Will look out the paracetamol for tomorrow, just in case.

Good to hear Last Tango, I hope you won’t need the paracetamol tomorrow.

Thank you, Mags - hopefully not!

Fingers crossed you,ll be ok my o h had his yesterday and he s been fine

They flew in today…

About bloody time.

Good news Bruce … all systems go now!
