@spitfire It might not be accurate to compare those figures as they refer to people who caught the disease a couple of weeks ago. It has been quoted that deaths lag cases by approximately three weeks and it could well be that people who are critical caught the disease over a week ago (I donā€™t know but there seems to be logic in that)

The ratio has nearly corrected itself Bruce, canā€™t stand duff data.

The Criticals have remained constant except for a 300 or so increase in the USA, wonder why that is?

I donā€™t know but perhaps it is just not reported on a daily basis. I do recall the UK didnā€™t report it at all for ages last year, the table just had N/A

@Bruce Iā€™m amazed how quickly Australiaā€™s cases have almost reached 100,000 over a few months.

I truly hope things improve for you all soon.

Mostly NSW and Victoria, NSW has had 1500 cases a day until the beginning of this week, the lockdown kept it from increasing over that number and it is starting to decrease.

WA, SA Tas and NT have had no cases and Queensland only one or two but the state borders remain firmly closed.

The International borders might be open before Christmas (according to Scotty from Marketing) so we might end up in the situation where you can fly from Sydney to the UK but not to Brisbane.

NSW has a road map out off lockdown which starts on 11th October when we reach 70% vaccination coverage and 80% two weeks later. Unvaccinated people will have to wait until 1st December for any freedoms (donā€™t ask me how that will work).

At her press conference yesterday the Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian, said that the actual number of hospital and ICU cases due to Covid -19 was less than that predicted by modelling. Covid-19 had put the hospital system under stress but less than predicted and prepared for. I think that was good news, letā€™s hope it remains that way.
