Probably because they are more ‘spaced out’ in France Spitty…
Thanks @Bruce, still short of energy but feeling good and managing a walk every day…Mrs Fox went out for a walk this morning also. The first time she has been out…

USA has done good this last couple of days.
NSW & ACT look like they are starting to trend down, Victoria is still trending up. Other states and territories are still Covid free.
Thank goodness my niece who tested positive for C19 and a severe asthmatic is improving.
She was admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties but only kept in a short time then sent home with medication .
I am told by ‘someone in the know’ that as many people as possible will be sent home if they are not living alone and thought able to cope.
I was talking on Friday to a childhood friend in Exeter (UK) who I only contact a few times a year. She has MS (but copes), I was surprised to hear that she had Covid and was very sick for a couple of weeks but has recovered and didn’t need to go to hospital - she had two doses of vaccine. Her children and grandchildren had also caught it all at different times.
She was the first person I personally knew who had contracted the disease. One of my Malaysian friends’ son was hospitalised with it in Indonesia and spent two weeks on oxygen but not a ventilator - he was only 49.
It doesn’t sound pleasant and in some ways I am not looking forward to "opening up" but it has to happen and I am really fed up with this lockdown. So glad I am double vaccinated and, if we are awash with AZ vaccine as reported, I am hoping to get a booster early next year.
I hope your niece recovers soon.
Nothing to worry about @Bruce Mrs Fox and me are in the pink after our brush with the deadly virus. And no jabs either! But keep out of it’s way if you can…
Glad to hear your niece is recovering well @Meg
I am not sure if this link will work but it is about the work inside a Covid ICU
If it works for you the video is well worth watching. You might have to click on the speaker symbol to get the sound (It is in English)

Blimey, what’s happening in the States now?
Here is a better and slightly longer version of the bit of film I posted previously about working in an ICU during the current Covid outbreak

Looks like we are still up there in the high numbers why should that be ?
I have no idea why the UK is having problems but in NSW it looks as if numbers are dropping at last. Victoria is still in the poo and getting worse while Melbourne has just set a world record for the number of days in lockdown.
If restrictions are slightly relaxed next month as predicted it will be interesting to see how cases increase. The NSW Health Department has just renewed the registration of all nurses, doctors and pharmacists who retired in the last 12 months to help cope with the expected rise in cases (whether they volunteer to help is another matter).

I might drop the URL reference in future because the OFC software keeps asking me if I want to include it, instead I will refer to the site without a URL if nobody objects. I will leave it for a few days before rewriting that tiny piece of VBA just incase there is a flood of opposition
