I agree Annie, and you can’t know the position or problems of other posters, so for that I apologise sometimes being less than tactful. I assume that if somebody joins the cut and thrust of debate, they will be able to cope with disagreement and opposing opinions.

One thing is for certain, if you get taken down, you are on your own, don’t matter who was right and who was wrong, that has always been the case, nowt new here.

My (very) elderly mum was talking today about an uncle she had who went crazy after fighting in WWI. Ruined his marriage but he still used to enjoy a sing along at Christmas. The pandemic is driving us all up the wall but IMO Covid is just as incomprehensible as WWI. Does anyone understand why we were fighting then?

It appears that certain people seem relish posting as much doom and gloom from the tabloids day after day. 
Most of us see it every day in the papers or on TV and radio, we do not need to read sheets copied and pasted as well every day … for goodness sake it’s almost Christmas, stop trying to scare people and try to bring a little happiness to the forum.

As a (hopefully helpful) tip, if anyone wants to block out covid-related stuff, they can hit the covid-19 tag at the top of the forum. Then click the orange bell next to the new thread icon. Scroll down to mute and select that. All the threads related to covid-19 will disappear from your view.
Covid isn’t a happy topic right now.
If you’re talking about other topics, I hope the right people see your post.

Added later: I just remembered that you can also mute the individuals who post the negative topics if it’s not the topics but the individuals.
