Corrie

I think Simon is 10 in Corrie while the actor, Alex Bain, is actually 12. I do wonder that Alex may be overacting what a 10 year old is normally like…

Why oh why can’t they just have a normal wedding in Coronation Street! They keep referring to Karla/Carla as being ‘classy’ (not that she ever has been) and then have her getting drunk and passing out in the middle of the reception  I may not think she’s classy but I just don’t see her as the sort of person that would do that - this bunch of writers needs to be replaced pronto.

When is David going to get a break? Why is everyone acting as though Kylie and Nick are innocent little angels

Carla has more of a drinking problem than Peter!! She gets through bottles of the stuff, so it’s no surprise to me that she ended up drunk at the wedding.

Didn’t Tina look awful with all that makeup? And I tell you what, Peter didn’t look all that great in HD, either!!!

I’m surprised about Peter not looking good in HD - I’ve always thought he was the most handsome man on the Street (after the Irish friend of his left - Kieran?).

I think I’m disappointed in Tina going after Peter but I agree, she didn’t look anywhere near as pretty as she normally does.

Little Simon reminds me of a mini Fred West! He’s a rude little sod and more than once he’s deserved to have a slap for his rudeness with his elders.

Carla was an absolute disgrace getting drunk and falling all over the place at her own wedding.

Tina looked like she’d been Tango’d - was that fake tan or make up? Whichever it was, she looked awful. Gimme a pen and paper and I’ll write out some good scripts for 'em!

I think it’s more to do with all the dirty tricks he played on Nick including trying to kill him.

No child deserves slapping …

In High Def I could see the bronze make up on Tina’s face: it was glistening. Peter’s face also looked awful close up, but then that’s my opinion.

Mollie, I thought your observation of Si was spot on, and made me LOL!

I am also getting sick of the men being subserviant to their women, like Steve to Michelle. What a bitch! And what IS it to do with her and the can’t act Liz if Steve wants to further his education? It reminds me of when Dreary and Blanche mocked Ken for wanting to write a novel so he burned it! I’d have ignored them and continued. It is these situations that make me angry with the writers.

Yes, Beverley Callard’s acting is dire. slams head on desk Why oh why did they bring her back? I never liked her the first time. Or has it been multiple times? Nothing’s changed.

I don’t think he did try to kill him? Or did I see that wrong? I saw it as in a moment of panic to prevent Nick from going back and telling everyone, David grabbed the steering wheel? If his intent was to kill Nick, he would have killed himself as well!

Yes, he has played dirty tricks but to kick him out of his own home, not allow him to see his children but still support them all seems a bit too much. David has always been a bit dodgy - same could be said for Kylie given her past!

I’m glad I don’t have HD then - I can carry on thinking how good looking he is

Apart from the first bit of the first sentence, I have to agree with all of that. I think the writers maybe were trying to find the same relationship that Steve had with Karen but it just isn’t working. Corrie has always had a ‘funny’ couple hasn’t it with Hilda and Stan, Curly and Raquel, Karen and Steve then it all went horribly wrong when they tried it with Les and Janice and then the others.

Michelle and Liz just sound like a couple of nasty bitchy women - can’t stand either of them and as a double act, they are twice as intolerable! Poor Steve - I think I’d have been sloping off on bogus study leave as well if those two harridans were waiting at home

Couldn’t agree more - let’s hope her stay is a short one; a very short one, and she can take Michelle with her when she goes.

yes quite agree, the rude little Sod that is Simon (Si , urgh)

does have a resemblance to Fred West…

Tina" well is she from Munchkin clan she’s gone orange and had a puffy face at the wedding what has happened to her:shock:

Tina apparently is going to make a play for Rob next! Dunno why the whole lot of them don’t live in a commune and be done with it.

This is what I hate about tv soaps. They go through the entire cast, often mismatching couples (Dom & Alicia - Emmerdale, for instance, and Ric Griffin & Michael Spence’s missus in Holby, now separated). You can see there is no spark, chemistry or interest. (The last is on my part, by the way.)

I bet the cast eye everyone up thinking, who am I expected to snog next? :surprised:

It’s rife in Emmerdale, Corrie, Holby, Casualty. Spect Stenders, as well. And Home and Away and Neighbours.

Rob  Tina would never tolerate him in a million years.

I agree with Jazzi about the entire cast having affairs with one another - don’t they know there’s a whole world outside Weatherfield

Plus I can’t stand Rob and smug way of speaking.

Folks have missed the point, yes David tried to kill his brother, but he himself was in the same car, so it follows that he tried to kill himself also, as such, he probably needs sectioning, not sending to Coventry.

I must have missed something crucial! I don’t remember him trying to kill moaning Nick but trying to stop him from driving home to tell Lianne by grabbing the steering wheel - why would David endanger himself?

Well I didn’t like David Platt anyway, long before the car crash. I bet he’s a little maggot in real life too!
(I do wish Nick would grow his hair over his ears a bit!

I don’t like David either but I’m a sucker for the underdog

I wish Nick would have a shave as well as grow his hair back!
