Why all the stupid jokes then?
We walked the dog today, others were doing so too but keeping their distance. None of the friendly doggy chats we normally get, just a ‘good afternoon’ and march on by. That’s good. I’m happy that people are finally getting the message.
There is a dedicated thread for Corona virus jokes, perhaps they can be moved to keep everyone happy. If ever there was a time to be nice to each other, it’s now.
I think it’s called ‘gallows humour’ … you have to admit the world is becoming a surreal place.
Quite frightening in its uncertainty as we see various governments blindly groping their way to trying to deal with it.
I actually find the panic, and upheaval in society more frightening than the thought of what is afterall, a rather low mortality rate …and yet, were I to contract it myself tomorrow I’d be scared to death …literally … that I was going to die.
You just want me to break my self-imposed social distancing rule and give you a hug don’t you?
The news says that pets can carry the virus ON THEIR coats. It is thus possible that if a person snuggles their pet, after it has been outside, the pet owner can then contract the virus.
It’s best not to think about it too deeply Morty. Just let it happen around you and do the best you can. Working is good for me because it takes my mind off it all for a few hours.
same here, I never thought I’d hear myself saying that but right now I’m happy mind is stuffed with work stuff for 4 hours a day.
Oh, I see. Thanks.
No problem then. Our cats don’t associate with other cats.
Sorry, but that’s simple not true. If someone sneezed on the handle of a shopping cart, then you come along later and used that same cart, you can quite easily catch the virus. Or even if someone sneezed close to you. That’s why their is a 2 meter social distancing advisory.
I wasn’t laughing this morning … the laundry is down one tumble dryer.
It’s broke and needs someone to come a have a look at it and whoever has the service contract (don’t know who it is) won’t come out to fix it because of coronavirus and the fact that it is a retirement complex for folk over 60, with some more elderly residents.
I’m so sorry you feel like this, but then, so many feel just like you right now and for the forseeable future. I know this probably won’t really help but its meant in good faith so here you go Morty.
I think you’re right on this one Bakerman.
1 metre distancing.
But 2 metres is needed if someone coughs.
Upto 10 metres if someone sneezes as it is propelled further.
Infected air droplets hang about for 3 hours. Best to avoid lifts if you can for that reason.
On hard surfaces such as metal or plastic they can live for 3 days.
I always love a good cuddle I need to do some serious pampering … treat myself and stuff my face with choccy. That’ll cheer me up.
FFS we need a bit of humour who knows who’ll be next to get it. God you are so stuffy.
Wait to a near loved one dies you can laugh then and I think you just might.
They already have but not of the virus & no I didn’t laugh then I cried.
They say we are two weeks behind Italy 2000 deaths still having a laugh
Viruses do the rounds every year at this time and usually start in the far east, that’s how a vaccine is created by seeing what is going to do the rounds and last year more people had died of the Flu virus than Covid19 at this same point…So why is this different?
Either the establishment are not telling us something…Or this virus has been massively over reported by the media. Why didn’t last years virus attract as much publicity…?
