Coronavirus

I agree.
It will not upset me to stay in for the next few weeks, except for essential excursions of course.
I am due a blood test at the GP next Monday and a review at the eye hospital the day after. If I am not contacted by either, I shall telephone to ascertain whether or not to attend. The blood test can wait, but I’d really like to know whether I have glaucoma, as suspected.

JB  I suggest you contact your surgery for advice, it is has been announced routine hospital appts other than cancer treatment are to change. Maybe you can make a telephone appointment to obtain your results.
Good luck I hope your results go well, I had suspected glaucoma but it turned out ok.

Thanks Meg. I can already see my test results on ‘Patient Access’, but I shall have no results to see until after I have given my blood sample.

I have been given two sets of eye drops to reduce eye pressure, and shall continue them until advised otherwise. If it is glaucoma, I believe the drops will continue anyway (for life) but I’d still like to know the state of my eye pressure. If the hospital appointment is to be delayed, I can at least call in at the optician and ask for an eye pressure test. I’d be happy to pay for it to be done privately, but I’m sure the optician would waive any charge anyway.

Covid-19 in God’s County

If tha hath a sniffle
And thi throat is sore as well
If tha’s findin’ breathin’ tricky
And thi muscles ache like hell

Then tha’s likely got Corona
Tha shunt worry reyt enough
Because tha comes from Yorkshire
And tha’s med o’ better stuff

Keep thissen ’ydrated
Wi’ a pot o’ Yorkshire tea
Or a pint or two o’ John Smiths
(In fact better mek that three)

Then in a week tha’s feeling grand
Tha’ll be back at thi best
Tha can head out into t’ open
In thi flat cap and string vest.

Many a true word spoke in jest JB…

Brilliant! (not that I understood all of it)

I did s’in am a yorkshire lass

Wot?

Just brilliant! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

What? You mean you’ve never heard of string vests?

Steady on! Some of the gents here may be fantasising about OFF ladies venturing out in just a flat cap and string vest!

True. But of course it could be worse.

It could be in Welsh!

People aren’t taking this seriously at all in public places. Never mind herd immunity, this is like a herd mentality where they feel comforted from getting closer to others!

We are, or at least some of our associates are.

Tonight’s Scottish dancing cancelled indefinitely.

Saturday’s Annual Scottish Dance cancelled (and we’ve each paid £30 for it!!!).

Marge’s two choirs have cancelled all rehearsals and performances - including one in which Marge has a two-note solo!

AND, we’ve had to delay going to the vet’s for the cats’ worming and flea treatments.

So let no-one say we haven’t done our part!

Just been to Tesco. No bread, no eggs, no anti-bac kitchen wipes, not much else, so I bought two tops, cracker bread & Ryvita, biscuits, tea, not much of that either, orange juice, ice cream & lots & lots of chocolate.

Ah, at least there is still chocolate.

I do like my chocolate.

I think I’ll start a rumour that chocolate makes covid-19 worse so it’s left on the shelves.

My husband also has an eye hospital appointment for Glaucoma in 2 weeks time as he is currently being treated for Glaucoma. If he doesn’t hear anything from them he is going to phone them and cancel for a later date.
