Hi
They are levelling the site and putting services in,
The hospital is prefabricated and they have the resources to build, equip and staff it in that time.
We here in the UK could not do such a thing.
They are also building a second such hospital.
China, along with many other countries has a large and very effective civil defence and emergency system.
We have dismantled ours.
Along with a lot of other things Swimmy!
The UK has become like an empty nutshell over the last few years!
All show, but sod all inside??
Donkeyman!
Apparrently No10 is considering flying all the potential virus
carriers back to uk??
Wont this put uk into contravention of international epidemic
control laws?
WHO legislation maybe? If they decide to do it it will be a very short
sighted decision imo!!
Donkeyman!
Yes, I agree. This is why I said a few posts back, if it were us, we would still be trying to round up MP’s to come back from the holidays and discuss it even!
Our hospital can’t even cope as it is, so I don’t know what will happen or where they could possibly put people if the virus comes here. I bet you we will be totally unprepared.
Another thing is, with this type of killer virus, I feel very strongly that the unfortunate people who die, must be cremated, never buried.
I have said this for years with other deadly illnessess.
Who knows if illnessess like this contaminates the soil?
It should be a legal requisite that cremation only must be carried out.
I hobbled to the shops this morning and a Chinese lady was coming towards me wearing a mask. I couldn’t help holding my breath until she had gone way past me.
My thoughts were she may have arrived here recently.
You’re braver than me, Mags - I’d have crossed over and still held my breath!
You’re not alone Mags, there was a Chinese couple shopping in My local co-op this morning and I would normally say good morning but I gave Them a body-swerve…I thought much the same as You
Those masks are pointless in this respect in my opinion. They would never prevent the passage of viruses because these are microscopic and the interstices (holes) in the matrix of the textiles used can be seen with the aid of a low power magnifying glass, meaning the viruses could pass through the mask with ease.
Hi
The viruses are transmitted on water vapour in the breath so masks can be effective in casual transmission.
Ordinary masks are useless as they are saturated in minutes.
FFP3 Masks are much more effective.
There is evidence that this family of viruses can also be spread by surface contact.
A ggod mask is far better than nothing.
We are travelling to Australia via Hong Kong this week so keeping my fingers crossed
So if you don’t hear from me anymore …
I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.
Can I have your wonderful pictures please Muddy?
Seriously, we wish you a safe journey on your travels…
They might lock down Hong Kong. I would change your flights so you go via a different connection.
Annie it’s nigh on impossible to change flights at this late date .
Just have to keep my fingers crossed .
Thanks Mags yes you can have a piccie or two
Isn’t this another reason why foreign nationals coming into the country should be screened for any infections?
Nice as that would be it’s impossible to implement. For example you can’t keep screening lorry drivers every time they cross the channel. It would also mean screening every British national returning home. Perhaps one day they will have the technology to allow us to walk through a machine that screens us in seconds.
I’m sorry to hear that but try the insurance company. Otherwise please be careful!
That’s awful!
