Let’s hope their recent ‘quick-build’ hospital (two weeks’ to build?) was constructed better than this hotel, being used as a coronavirus quarantine facility, which recently collapsed:
Never heard the term “thin” bleach. But you may be referring to laundry bleach ? Good Heavens. What do you use when laundering your white clothes ? I can’t imagine doing my laundry without using Clorox bleach.
Trouble is…You can be as vigilant as you like but anyone visiting your house (Friends, Neighbours, Family) must be as fastidious as you or else you’re wasting your time. And don’t forget, for the first three days of being infected there are no symptoms but can still be passed on, that’s one of the reasons it’s gone viral…Pardon the pun…
I thought bleach makes whites go yellowish over time?
Exactly right.
I totally agree. This virus is much more dangerous than people think. The average flu kills only .1% of infected people. However, the covid-19, which has mutated into 2 distinct viruses, kills 2.4% of infected people.
It has not yet turned into a “wildfire”, but it soon might. All it would take is for one single infected human to get on the London tube or the N.Y. C. subway at rush hour and it will be totally out of control.
One thing is certain. With my underlying health issues, (COPD and a poor heart), if I contract it, it will be GAME, SET, MATCH for me. All I hope for is that it will end me very quickly.
My daughter has ‘ordered’ me to take my own bags to Morrisons and do not use a trolley or basket.
Makes sense.
The island has just announced it’s first Corona Virus patient. Some idiot posted it on FB earlier today but the post was deleted as the thug mentality was out in force!
what do you mean ‘the island’ Lindy
Asda Smart Price thin bleach 38p for 2L
Isle of Wight I think…?
I hear it’s nastier than the usual flu virus as this one is attacking peoples lungs and causing pneumonia which is killing people. I had pneumonia 2 years ago and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy, it’s very frightening. I think because I’ve had it myself is the reason I’m worrying more than usual, it almost killed me and took me 4 months to recover.
I’ve too have had pneumonia but cannot recall anything about it as that was not long after I was born. At 3lb 2oz at birth I guess I am very lucky to still be around. I have a scar on my lung to prove it and the offer of a pneumonia inoculation a while ago was taken up.
It doesn’t matter what it’s like to die from it! or indeed survive. It’s about the end of the world, I wouldn’t want that.
I’ve had the vaccination for pneumonia a few months ago Baz but the nurse told me, like the flu, it only covers a few strains and I believe there are around 90 strains of pneumonia.
I’m not jittery. My dear wife went to the shopping mall today. She suggested that I stay at home. Because of radiotherapy my immune system is a bit deficient. Mixing with crowds is probably not a good idea.
she’s a good wife who obviously treasures her hubby.
ooops silly me, I didn’t look to where Lindy was located. Thanks bes
No. Absolutely not. I have been using Clorox bleach (what you folks seem to call, thin bleach) since I was in my teens. It gets whites WHITER, not yellowish.
1/2 cupful /laundry load. Add only when the washing machine is full of water. It also DISINFECTS not only laundry but almost anything. For example, when mopping/scrubbing the floors.
Government is set to advise people to stay at home especially the elderly, according to the Telegraph.
