Coronavirus

You would think the reports of the spread should or would cause concern.

Yet out and about talking with people, especially the 30-40 yr old there seems little to no concern for personal health.

With this blasé attitude I’ve been experiencing I can’t see it helping to reduce the spread of infection.

Yes I have accused the media/governments of scaremongering. But with the reports of not to worry along with low mortality rates in comparison with Influenza, road accidents etc, reduces genuine worry, but appears to hinder too.

That’s a concern of mine, I’ve noticed it too that many aren’t taking it seriously, my husband included and he has diabetes, it’s not like the normal flu, this is attacking peoples lungs and causing pneumonia.

My best friend has emphysema and only has 30% of lung capacity, she also has Crohns and Thyroid diseases, she’s very frightened and I can understand why.

We as people need to pull together and do everything we can to stop the spread of the disease but the government needs to help us achieve that, grounding planes for a start. Its a real problem that economy is going to suffer but something has to be done.

Supermarkets need to limit people to items in their stores instead of letting people take what they want, it’s very selfish to take a huge amount of one thing when it needs to be shared with others. I haven’t been able to get any hand sanitiser anywhere because obviously people are grabbing more than their fair share.

No bog rolls in Tesco today :frowning:

none in asda this evening either :frowning:

Is it possible to make your own hand sanitizer using natural components like lemon juice Lion Queen. There is always a natural alternative to most medication and cleaning agents…

It’s when a detachable shower head comes in handy biffo…
Sort of a DIY bidet…

Somebody mentioned the Romans’ sponge on a stick

Conflicting advice is unhelpful, not brought any sanitizer there is none in our supermarket anyway, but expect the price will rise and a limit placed on how much each customer can buy.

ouch, remind me not to take any notice of you again!

Ignore you LQ - never!

and it was Poohdog’s sponge on a stick

Apparently people are trying to resell
sanitiser at £25 a bottle! That’s more
than a bottle of vodka

Vodka would work as a sanitiser, use that instead.

First death in the UK has just been reported on the News, it was a woman in her 70s.

If anyone is interested a link to this BBC News item can be found on my earlier post #899

I agree. I certainly wouldn’t drink the stuff!
Single malt whisky or dark rum for me.

Advice: if you use this tactic, make an effort to keep a straight face when you say it.

Cheeky!

You can probably still get a bottle brush.

You can, I renewed mine not so long ago. I use it with bleach to keep the drain hole in the shower clean.

I’d skip the bleach though, unless the disease gets much worse.
