Bruce updates us every day with the Covid situation for Australia, UK and the US, JB … I’m sure he knows we appreciate it and most of us check it out every day. I look on it as being one of the most important posts on the forum this past year, it has kept us up to date with the progress of the virus.
Not really a subject that needs a reply, it is more of a bulletin board of the state of the nations.
I occasionally post snippets about the Australian cases but that is understandably again mostly factual and not really a matter for discussion.
There are people that read the posts because the read count goes up, if that becomes static then you might have a point but as it is it is no trouble for me as it is [thread=69263]mostly automated[/thread], it is read and I log in every day anyway. In fact yours and Assman’s posts shows that it is read even if not commented upon but thank you (and everybody else too) for your interest.
Oooer! That must be a prediction Mags surely ??
And depends entirely on the virus imo!
I do commend Bruce for persevering with the stats for so long
and many people seem to be making use of the data still !!
Funnily enough l tracked back to the first post on the virus issue,
And it seems that it was me that posted the first on this
subject long before the virus became an issue for mankind ??
And the main theme then was the issue of high speed travel and
the effect it could have in the transfer of diseases around the
world. !!
Prophetic eh !!
There was an interesting interview on the wireless this morning with a professor something about the AZ vaccine and blood clotting.
In the over 50s the rate of clotting is 4 to 6 per million injections.
In the under 50s it is 10 per million.
Symptoms appear after 5 days and up to 20 days usually in the form of a headache which persists. It starts after all the usual vaccine symptoms have ceased (sore arm, flu like feeling, tiredness etc). The condition can be effectively treated.
BTW the word from government is that the Australian borders will not be opened until the middle of next year and will be progressive (?). Some are warning that Australia cannot be a hermit nation. We are desperately short of labour so I am guessing the first arrivals will be skilled labour and backpackers.
The Federal Government is reportedly putting forward a Labor syle budget this evening with the emphasis on skills training and job creation, aged and child care and infrastructure building after 8 years of cutting back in all those areas. Gone are the hard right policies they previously espoused.
The same is happening over here Brucy?
The Tories have also been following working class policies
And promises to redevelop the Midlands and northern areas
again and to boost social services !!
Have they had enough of immigration ?? And decided to make their.
native populations work again ??
Donkeyman!
