Coronavirus

A lot of things are being said by different people.

But in terms of the UK we really don’t know how many will die yet and a lot depends on people listening to advice. It seems that for some they need to be shocked into doing it.

There will soon be a treatment (this can happen sooner than a vaccine). We will also be churning out ventilators and they are making more beds for the sick. In some countries it will kill more because we don’t have an equal global society.

What do you mean by MUTATION swimfeeders. As far as I know this is NOT a mutation. It is a new virus and it has not mutated (although it could possibly do so further down the line).

Lucky you you made it in a couple days time you would have spent 14 days in Christmas Island

Very few cases in Oz land thank God they closed their borders on the 1st of Feb its no laughing matter.

I live in an area of homes especially for the elderly that is over70’ s .
I see two families have ignored Boris’s request not to visit your mother on Mother’s Day .
Cars parked up and they’ve gone inside .
Is it in defiance of Government advice or do they not listen to the news ?

Drove down to South End to day SUNDAY no cars on road.

Pulled up at my eating place SHUT will try again tomorrow.

So thank full that my daughter is working from home.

Thanks for that. Please remember that I am over ninety and the old brainbox is not as it was forty odd years ago. My last workplace had a computer installed. It was the size of a London bus, Had to be housed in an ambient temperature at all times and only one person who had been full trained was allowed anywhere near it.
I know little or nothing about the ins and outs of computers, unlike todays generation who are born into today’s technolo
gy It was not till my wife died twelve year ago that I decided to get a computer. I am still learning .

My old stomping ground…well occasional stomps anyway!

Will you please shut up?

I don’t think any of us are laughting.

Thank you JBR. I didn’t like to respond in case I got taught of badly…but I’m not laughting either!

Try not to worry Ben, you are doing just fine.
I hope I am as alert and savvy as you when I am over 90 - if I even make it that far.

From what I hear, things are worse in London than anywhere else in the UK.
Many of the most irresponsible seem to be there. Not only the ‘toilet roll brigade’ in supermarkets, but the young who think they are immune to the virus.
One report I read was of young idiots, finding that their pubs are closed, congregated in favoured spots to watch boy racers testing out their cars.
Although older people are believed to be more at risk, surely this stupid behaviour must result in many of the young imbeciles contracting the disease. Perhaps they’ll learn a few facts then.

9 more people have died today in the UK

Well said LL. Actually, laughting is something I never do, though I’m not sure exactly what it is!

I received this link from an American friend of mine. It suggests reasons for why Italy and Iran have been so badly hit by Corvid-19 and I can’t think of any other suitable thread to post it in:

I’ve read it from start to finish, it’s made me think and start to wonder if this OBOR business is behind the Chinese wanting to bid for HS2.

Ben  Please don’t worry about making any mistakes in posts, we are always here to help out. If you need any help with your posts in any way, just leave a message for us in Contact Staff here: Over 50s Forum

Im disgusted and ashamed of the people of my hometown

This was this morning in tesco in Batley

Social distancing? More like social crushing. :105:

Queenie, as I said in another thread, my son and his lady found the same at 9 a.m. this morning.
Working at the hospital, she has a NHS card to shop early, yet they came home empty handed as they couldn’t even get in the car park!

If shops are having designated times and days for certain people and age groups, they shouldn’t be letting everyone else in as well surely, else I don’t see the point.

Sainsburys email today says 7.30- 8 a.m for NHS workers only Mups .
