Hi

Locally rates have shot up over the last 2 days, it is quite worrying.

We have gone from 39 to 133 cases per 100,000.

Time for a personal lockdown.

Indeed … :!:

Locally, for me, the rate of infection is 151.7, but elsewhere in the county the rate goes as high as 400 with one town exceeding 500 … :103:

Within the (rural) local authority area there have been 438 new cases in the last 7 days and in the nearest medium-sized town there have have been 615 cases in the last 7 days, increases of about 25% in both cases … :!:

Covid-19: Nearly 100,000 catching virus every day in England

The study, by Imperial College London, says the pace of the epidemic is accelerating and estimates the number of people infected is now doubling every nine days.

The React-1 study is highly influential because it is the most up-to-date assessment of Covid-19 in the country, with the last swabs taken only on Sunday and nearly 86,000 volunteers taking part.

It shows cases are rising in every age group and in every region of England.

While cases are currently highest in the North, infections are surging more rapidly in the South.

The study compared the latest swabs collected between 16 and 25 October with the last round of swabs, between 18 September and 5 October.

More (shocking) details in the article … :107:

I thought this was an interesting graph in the Grauniad about the situation as a second wave unfolds in Europe. Doesn’t look too good for Europe as a whole, lockdowns coming I would say.

I,m sorry to say this but in my opinion it will be years and will cost of millions of lives before this virus is brought under control and even then it will never, never be completely eradicated.
We must face the fact. It is here to stay.

Coronavirus cases in England jump to 51,900 a day with 1 in 96 infected, ONS finds

One in 96 people in England are estimated to have coronavirus, according to the latest official infections data.

The number of infections continues to increase particularly sharply among secondary schoolchildren, the fresh figures show.

The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) weekly infections survey shows numbers continue to rise.

There were an average of 51,900 new cases per day* in private households in England between October 17 and 23.

This is up from an estimated 35,200 new cases per day for the period from October 10 to 16.

* If maintained, that rate would produce 1,500,000 new cases per month …

The process takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Please do not refresh the website until 4:18pm.[/CENTER]

Does anyone have an explanation for this? Why do they o
bject to filming.

Blocked draw your own conclusion.

Do not believe the numbers being tested, never have. Instinctively feel that we are being deceived.

A video taken around the country in the last eight days of covid centres totally empty, and staff extremely reluctant to be filmed or answer any questions.

It is being reported here that Clown Prince Boris will announce the lockdown of England next week as he is forced to take the advice of scientists. Has anything been mentioned there?

Yes,Mail and Express are both reporting it along with the BEEB,it’ll happen sooner or later.

How long will this lockdown last, a month or three. Not confident that people are going to be as compliant this time.

False hope that leads to unrealistic expectations.

Seven Nightingale hospitals were built to cope with the expected rise in demand on the NHS in England, have any been used?

If numbers are rising why aren’t covid patients sent to them rather than General hospitals.

There are more questions than answers.

Where will be after another lockdown, exactly. The R number reduces so then lockdown relaxed, R number goes up another lockdown.

Half measure lockdown makes no sense. News reports says school and universities to remain open they think.
